Regional Senior Commercial Officer visit to ALHOSN University

Dr. Mohamad Kashef, the Vice Chancellor and CEO of ALHOSN University invited Mr. Dao M. LE, the Regional Senior Commercial Officer of the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi to the American Corner on Thursday 3 November 2016. Over 30 students and staff had the pleasure to meet with Mr. Le.

The purpose of the meeting was to recognize Mohammad Tahir (Mechanical Engineering student) & Noor Ismail's (Software Engineering student) efforts during their internship with the commercial office for developing "Discover America" website and Mobile application.

Mr. Le is with the U.S. Department of Commerce, and represents a worldwide network of over 175 offices in 75 countries that match make American firms with international business partners. In his role, Mr. Le oversees commercial, trade and investment operations for the Gulf.

In response to the initiative of His highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai to raise the UAE Flag, On Thursday, November 3, 2016, ALHOSN University celebrated the UAE Flag Day, which coincides with the 12th anniversary of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan's accession to the presidency of the UAE. All Faculty, staff and students headed by Dr. Mohamad Kashef, Vice Chancellor and CEO of ALHOSN University stood outside the University Campus, listened with due respect to the National Anthem while the students council representative Mr. Saeed Al Ali, Mr. Mohamad Al Shaibih and Ms. Dhabia Al Mazrouei alongside with the vice chancellor Dr. Mohamed Kashef raised the UAE flag. Mr. Saeed Al Ali introduced the program and delivered a short speech for the occasion.

ALHOSN University had its most successful Najah exhibition ever last week with almost around 1000 enquiries from students who wish to find out more about ALHOSN Degree Programs. As ALHOSN University is gearing up to move to a different location, all prospective students will be invited to its next open house in the new campus during the month of July, 2017.

A great team made up of students, faculty and staff were there to assist them and take their details. The NAJAH 2016 Exhibition is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the UAE Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, to bring together students, parents and employees in the public and private sectors, as well professionals who are mentors and alumnae, with the purpose of exploring the best study opportunities and sharing the latest teaching methods, locally and internationally.

Breast Cancer Awareness Programme

The American Corner in Abu Dhabi City (ACAD) & Student Council at ALHOSN University hosted its 5th Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign on 23rd & 24th October 2016.

This year’s proceeds from the bazaar and the sales of magnetic ribbons will once again benefit the Pink Caravan; a pan-UAE breast cancer awareness initiative courtesy of the Friends of Cancer Patients charitable organization.

The program included lively Zumba and aerobics sessions and salon services courtesy of Nataly Fitness & Beauty Center. Pink burger, Forty Fruity, Pink Polo and Universal Hospital also participated. More than 100 female students participated in the various activities which many have felt it was an amazing experience.

Special thanks to our students for making this a successful campaign.
