As the school year comes to an end, I was overwhelmed by the heartfelt (and hilarious) messages my students left me on the board during our final sessions together. 💬🧠

They filled the board with thank-you notes, jokes, drawings, and memories — and even made a very “creative” acrostic of my name:

🚤 Ships Race A STEAM Project-Based Assessment 🔧🌊
At Summit International Schools, we wrapped up Term 3 with an exciting and hands-on STEAM project-based assessment that had our students fully engaged — designing, building, and racing their very own motor-powered boats! ⚙️💡

Students went through three key phases in this journey:

1️⃣ 3D Design Phase – Where creativity met digital skills as students designed their boats using 3D modeling tools.
2️⃣ Research & Construction Phase – Turning ideas into reality by researching propulsion systems and building functional boats with motors and water pumps.
3️⃣ Race Phase – The final test! Our school swimming pool became the race arena where students tested their creations in real conditions. 🏁

Throughout the project, students developed and applied key STEAM skills:
🔹 Science – Understanding buoyancy, force, and water dynamics
🔹 Technology – Using 3D design software and electric components
🔹 Engineering – Building and troubleshooting real prototypes
🔹 Art – Incorporating creativity in design
🔹 Math – Measuring, calculating dimensions, and optimizing balance

The highlight wasn’t just the final race — it was the learning journey itself. Students collaborated, innovated, problem-solved, and learned by doing, which is truly at the heart of effective 21st-century education.

Today, I had the opportunity to visit ADIPEC Exhibition and Conference 2024 at the ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi. The event offered a fascinating glimpse into the rapidly evolving intersection of AI and robotics within the energy sector.
During my visit, I explored innovative AI applications in energy, such as using AI libraries within robots to enable autonomous outputs and tasks—similar to the impressive robot “FARAHAT.” I was also thrilled to see Tesla’s latest bot and the new model of Tesla electric cars. At ADNOC’s stand, I observed their anti-explosion robot in development, designed to enhance safety in high-risk environments.
Another highlight was Microsoft’s booth, where I discovered the newest integration of Microsoft Copilot with Office 365. Now, users can prompt AI directly within the apps, making it easier to leverage AI’s capabilities to complete tasks seamlessly.
This experience underscored the transformational impact of AI in the energy field, which ADIPEC has aptly spotlighted this year. The industry is navigating the challenge of balancing AI’s growing computational demands with sustainable energy solutions. ADIPEC’s EnergyAI theme brilliantly captures this pivotal moment, shedding light on how AI is reshaping the energy transition while pushing our energy systems to new limits.

🚀 خلصنا مشروع تقييم عملي (PBA) في الروبوتات! 🚗💨

تشرفت إني قُدت فصل السينيورز في مدرستي في مشروع تقييم عملي باستخدام مجموعة LEGO Spike Prime Robotics Kit. التحدي كان إنهم يصمموا ويبرمجوا عربية فورمولا وان، باستخدام 3 موتورات وسنسور لون/ضوء. ولخبطنا الأمور شوية بتصميم تراكات فيها لفات حادة علشان نرفع مستوى التحدي في البرمجة!

الطلبة كانوا قد التحدي فعلًا، وتفوقوا في كل من مرحلة البناء والبرمجة. التجربة دي مش بس زودت فهمهم للروبوتات والبرمجة، دي كمان نمت مهاراتهم في العمل الجماعي، الابتكار، البحث، والمهارات الهندسية – حاجات أساسية لأي حد ناوي يكمل في المجال الهندسي بعد المدرسة.

فخور جدًا بإنجازاتهم ومتحمس أشوف إزاي المهارات دي هتشكل مستقبلهم!
