Start with active backbends*:
Cobra
Locust
Progress to leveraged (bound, i.e. hand to ankle) backbends*:
Half bow
Half camel
Mini spine release:
Cobra shoulder taps
Full leveraged backbend*:
Bow
Spine release:
Child's pose
*Note* Engage your abdominals to safely backbend and avoid excess pressure, discomfort or pain in the lower back.

Do you spend a major part of the day sitting?
Do you regularly run, cycle, or strength train your lower body?
If so, give your hips (and spine) a little lubrication.
Move slowly.
Seek the biggest range of movement in the target joint.
Prevent movement in all joints except the one/s being targeted.
Controlled movement may turn out to be harder than expected 😉 It can also help prevent tight, stiff and achy joints.
