Aliaa Hamed- Arabic and Quran Teacher

As wives, mothers and daughter we do so many chores around the house. We set out to do difficult tasks outside our homes, we stand in queues for our kids, we pick up heavy groceries four our family.

These small yet physically taxing tasks takes more than energy. SubhanAllah.

Today I want to remind you to renew your intentions. Turn to Allah (swt) for every small thing you do. Be it the dishes or cleaning the carpet, say “I do this for you my Rabb”.

Tell me in the comments below what is that one task you don’t like but you do it for your family. 👇🏼

➡️ A study was conducted on 120 immediate relatives of patients undergoing a cardiac surgery.

➡️ Families of patients undergoing open heart surgery were randomly divided into two groups of study and control.

➡️ The Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scales questionnaires were completed by both groups. Then, some explanations about how to use recommended prayers were given to the study group, and an hour later, the questionnaires were completed again.

➡️ The data was then analysed and stress, anxiety, and depression showed a significant difference in the study group before and after intervention.

➡️ Similarly, there was a significant difference in the mean scores of anxiety, stress, and depression in the study and control groups after intervention.

SubhanAllah, this study proves that Adhkar reduces stress, anxiety and depression.

So here is reminder for you my sisters, to include adhkar in your daily routine.

Abu Huraira (RA): I heard Allah’s Apostle saying, “If there was a river at the door of anyone of you and he took a bath in it five times a day would you notice any dirt on him?” They said, “Not a trace of dirt would be left.”
The Prophet added, "That is the example of the five prayers with which Allah blots out (annuls) evil deeds.”

(Sahih Al Bukhari Volume 1, Book 10, Hadith # 506)

Research suggests that listening and reading have almost the same effect on the brain

My dearest sister, there is no time like today.
Truth is, there will always be something taking your time or emotional space.

If you can manage work, kids and the house all together, you can remove some time to learn and study Allah’s deen. What do you think?

There will always be something to worry about.

But as a Quran and Tajweed teacher, I am here to remind you to take just one step in Allah’s way.

When you put Allah first, He will open doors for you from where you never imagined, InshaAllah.

Abu Dharr reported: “

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Allah Almighty says: Whoever comes with a good deed will have the reward of ten like it and even more. Whoever comes with an evil deed will be recompensed for one evil deed like it or he will be forgiven. Whoever draws close to Me by the length of a hand, I will draw close to him by the length of an arm. Whoever draws close to Me the by length of an arm, I will draw close to him by the length of a fathom. Whoever comes to Me walking, I will come to him running. Whoever meets Me with enough sins to fill the earth, not associating any partners with Me, I will meet him with as much forgiveness.”

One day, Abu al-Aswad Al-Du’ali and his daughter were looking at the sky. She said (in Arabic):

مَا أَجْمَلُ السَّمَاءِ
This meant, what is the most beautiful thing in the sky?

He replied, the stars.

She said no I meant the sky is beautiful. So he said if you wanted to say it, you should have said it this way:

مَا أَجْمَلَ السَّمَاءَ
So the ending of the sentence changed the meaning.

Abu al-Aswad Al-Du'ali then realized that he needed to document Arabic grammar. He hired a scribe and told him that I have this Qur’ân in front of you.

I will recite it and when I make an oo sound, put this sign before the letter. When you see me open my mouth, put a sign on top of the letter. And when you see ee then put a sign below.

However, these vowel points were not those which are used today. For a “fat-ha”, one dot was placed above the letter; for a “kasra”, one dot was placed below the letter; for a “dhamma”one dot in front of the letter.

Abul Aswad al Du’ali was a very famous grammarian and a close companion of Ali ibn tlib (rah).

Abul Aswad al Du’ali was also the first one to establish the base of the school of Basra. He was the first one to place dots on Arabic letters and the first to write on Arabic linguistics.

Ibnun Nadim, author of the Fihrist said: “Muhammad bin Ishaq says that most scholars agree that grammar was taken from Abu’l Aswad ad Du’ali, and that he took it from the Khalifah ‘Ali (radhiyallahu anhu)”

This my dear sisters, is pure dedication and love for Allah swt.

Did you know that Allah has made the Quran in the Arabic Language, so it is easy to understand. Allah says in the Quran:

وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ
“And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to understand and remember; then is there anyone who will remember”

Surah Qamar- Ayat 60

Ask yourself, "What am I waiting for?"

It is the month of Muharram. It is one of the four sacred months in the Islamic Calendar.

PAUSE, REFLECT and PLAN your acts of worship for the next few days left of Muharram.

Muharram is the first month in the Islamic Calendar. Prophet Muhammed ﷺ fasted on the day of the day of Ashura and also encouraged us to do so.

It is reported in Sahih Muslim that Prophet Muhammed ﷺ said:

“Fasting on the Day of Ashura, I hope will expiate the sins of the previous year.”
(Sahih Muslim)

Other reasons why Ashura is important:

⚡Nuh (as) escaped the ridicule and opposition of his people
⚡ Musa (as) escaping the tyranny of the Pharaoh
⚡Husayn (ra) escaped the oppressors in power

❓Did you know that Prophet Muhammed ﷺ never abandoned fasting on the day of Ashura❓
