Dear Parents/Guardians,
Greetings from TOGS Institute of Scientific Learning.
We would like to inform you that our learners write weekly examinations as part of our continuous assessment and progress tracking system. This enables us to monitor each student's understanding, identify areas that need improvement, and maintain a high standard of academic excellence.
For now, certificates will be awarded every week to the Best Mathematics Student and the Best Combined Science Student. These awards are meant to encourage hard work, consistency, and healthy academic competition among our learners.
At the end of each month, we will also recognize:
The Overall Best Student
The Most Improved Student
These students will receive a Certificate of Achievement. In addition, the Overall Best Student will be awarded a Badge of Excellence to wear and maintain throughout the following month as a symbol of outstanding performance and leadership.
This unique tracking and reward system is one of the reasons TOGS Institute continues to stand out as a leading academic support institution in Highfields. We believe that recognizing effort, improvement, and excellence motivates learners to reach their full potential.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child's educational journey.

Many students were absent in school today, but I still had class with the few that came.
We treated transformer calculations.
The question was:
“A step-up transformer operates on 230V and supplies a current of 10A. The ratio of the primary and secondary winding is 1:10. Calculate:
A. Voltage across the secondary
B. Current in the primary
C. Power output”
Instead of solving everything myself, I called out two boys and one girl.
The first boy solved the voltage question using:
Vs/Vp = Ns/Np
The second solved the current question using:
VpIp = VsIs
Then the girl solved the power output using:
P = VsIs
I guided them through everything step by step.
I explained what the symbols mean:
Vs is voltage in the secondary coil,
Vp is voltage in the primary coil,
Ns is number of turns in the secondary coil,
Np is number of turns in the primary coil.
Something made me happy today.
These students are not usually the students that talk or answer questions in class.
But because the class was small today, I intentionally picked them.
Then I told them something:
“On Monday, when the class is full, you people will come out and solve these questions again.”
The funny part is that the other students will be shocked because they will not know these students already prepared for it today.
So now, these students will go home, study it properly, build confidence, and come back ready to teach others on Monday.
Sometimes confidence in Physics starts from one small opportunity.
