Last Saturday, 7 December, we gathered to honour the life and legacy of Ashley Musendekwa with a Memorial Service and the official launch of the St George’s College Ashley Musendekwa Educational Trust (SGCAMET).
The day began at Glen Forest Memorial Park with the unveiling of Ashley’s tombstone. Following this solemn moment, attendees proceeded to St George’s College for a church service in the SGC Chapel. The service was led by Reverend T. E. Maforo of Revelation United Methodist Church, with Fr Joe Arimiso SJ (Rector - St George’s College) joining to unveil Ashley’s memorial plaque, marking a poignant conclusion to the ceremony.
The commemoration continued in Beit Hall, where the SGCAMET was officially launched. The event was a fitting tribute to Ashley, with heartfelt speeches celebrating his life and the enduring impact of his work.
We extend our deepest gratitude 👏🏼 to everyone who contributed to making this day a success. Seeing people from all walks of life come together was truly inspiring, and it was a meaningful way to carry forward the incredible legacy Ashley left behind. ❤️
