REMEMBERING A NATIONAL HERO: ZVINAVASHE’S LEGACY LIVES ON

2026 Visual Art Tour
Our students recently enjoyed an enriching Visual Art Tour at the Chapungu Sculpture Gallery, where they explored the world-renowned Shona Sculpture, one of Zimbabwe’s most celebrated art forms.
The visit included painting and basic photography lessons, allowing students to express their creativity while developing new artistic skills. They also learned about the inspiring history of Roy Guthrie, whose vision helped promote Zimbabwean sculpture to the world.
Experiences like these help our learners appreciate heritage, creativity, and storytelling through art.

Blue House extends dominance at Inter-House athletics competitions
STAFF WRITER
BLUE HOUSE were crowned overall champions for the sixth consecutive year after narrowly winning the Inter-House Competitions held on Thursday.
In one of the most tightly contested meets in recent years, four Houses — Blue, Green, Yellow and Red — battled for supremacy across a full programme of track and field events.
Blue amassed 1028 points to finish just six ahead of a determined Green House on 1022.
Yellow secured 992 points, while Red finished on 948.
The slender margin of victory reflected the intensity that characterised the day.
Green House pushed the defending champions to the wire, particularly in the middle-distance races and selected field events, ensuring the outcome remained uncertain until the final tallies were confirmed.
Blue’s strength on the track once again proved decisive.
Dominant performances in the sprints and well-drilled relay teams delivered vital points at crucial moments.
Their athletes combined pace with composure, executing clean baton exchanges under pressure.
The high jump provided one of the most compelling highlights of the afternoon.
With the bar raised progressively, competitors from all four Houses showcased remarkable technique and resilience.
Each successful clearance was met with roars from the terraces, but it was Blue’s consistent top-three finishes in the discipline that ultimately bolstered their overall tally.
Adding colour and warmth to the competition were the ECD pupils, whose short-distance race drew delighted applause from parents and teachers alike.
The youngsters’ enthusiasm and determination, though untimed and purely participatory, captured the spirit of the day.
The parents’ race also proved a crowd favourite.
Amid laughter and spirited rivalry, mothers and fathers took to the track, providing a light-hearted interlude that reinforced the strong sense of community underpinning the event.
Yellow House impressed with their endurance athletes, while Red displayed fighting spirit throughout the field events.
Though neither mounted a serious title challenge, both Houses contributed to a competitive and spirited atmosphere that defined the meet.
Beyond House pride, the competition also served as the selection ground for the school’s athletics team, the Foxes.
Coaches expressed confidence in the final squad drawn from across all four Houses, citing the depth of talent and the competitive edge displayed on the day.
With unity forged through rivalry and performance honed under pressure, the Foxes now turn their attention to inter-schools competition.
On the strength of Thursday’s performances, the school will travel with belief — determined to win, as always, as a pack.
Our Grade 3 learners had an enriching agricultural trip to Mooland Farm, they gained practical insight into livestock management and dairy farming.
