✨ Celebrating Our IB Graduates ✨
This month, we are celebrating 15 of our students who graduated from the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) at UWC last week.
Representing four African nations (Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Burundi and Kenya), this cohort demonstrated the power of access, opportunity, and purpose.
Through their gap year at STAR Leadership Academy in 2023, these graduates grew into leaders shaped by leadership, service, collaboration and resilience.
The IB Diploma further strengthened their research, critical thinking, and global awareness; preparing them to shape their future with courage and clarity.
Our heartfelt thank you to our Patrons, our President and CEO, and the entire HLF/Delta Philanthropies family for believing in our students.
To the Class of 2023 - your journey continues.
Keep rising.
Keep leading.
Keep shining brighter each day.

✨ Celebrating Our Visionary Leader ✨
Today, we celebrate our President and CEO, Ms Tanya Masiyiwa, a leader whose commitment to education and youth development has opened pathways for young Africans to learn, compete, and lead on the global stage.
Because of her vision, the STAR Leadership Academy Class of 2023 not only completed the Cambridge A-Levels and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP); they now step into universities across the world with purpose, confidence, and global ambition.
Their success is a reflection of her leadership; a leadership that invests, believes, and builds.
We proudly celebrate 18 IB Diploma graduates and 22 Cambridge A-Level students, a diverse cohort representing Zimbabwe, Kenya, Lesotho, and Burundi, all united by ambition and a shared vision for impact.
These students carry more than certificates.
They carry a future Ms Tanya helped to shape.
They move forward with courage, competence, and readiness because leadership met opportunity; and changed lives.
🌟 Here’s to the work behind the wins.
🎉 Here’s to the Class of 2023.
💛 Here’s to Ms Tanya, and the futures her leadership continues to unlock.

Celebrating our Patrons
Our Patron, Dr. Strive Masiyiwa, was named to the TIME100 AI 2025 list, honouring the most influential leaders shaping the future of artificial intelligence globally.
This is more than an award. It’s a reflection of a vision:
“Africa prepared, equipped, and ready to thrive in the AI era.”
Through Cassava Technologies’ partnership with NVIDIA, Africa’s first AI Factories are being built, unlocking:
- Access to compute power
- Innovation opportunities
- Growth for entrepreneurs, researchers and businesses
For our STAR Leaders, and our bigger HLF Alumni community, this represents a generational investment in Africa’s future.
A future where knowledge, innovation, and service converge to transform lives and communities.

Today we shine a light on Panashe Pemhiwa !!
Panashe was selected to represent Zimbabwe and the Southern African youth at the 22nd Africa–Nordic Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, held in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, under the theme “Leveraging Technology and Collaboration for Future-Ready Societies.”
He joined the Young Innovators Forum panel, co-chaired by Hon. Espen Barth Eide (Minister of Foreign Affairs, Norway) and Hon. Olivier Nduhungirehe (Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rwanda)— where he spoke on youth innovation, intergenerational collaboration, and the role of technology in driving sustainable development.
As a Star Leadership Academy alumnus, Panashe embodies the Academy’s vision of nurturing leaders who think critically, serve passionately and lead with purpose. The skills, confidence and global mindset he developed through SLA empowered him to represent not just his peers, but a generation of young Africans ready to shape the future.
This milestone reminds us of the power of education and leadership development in preparing young people to influence global conversations and drive meaningful change. ✨
