I extend my sincere congratulations to His Excellency Hakainde Hichilema on his re-election as President of the Republic of Zambia.

As an independent candidate who recently contested the Mwembezhi West Constituency parliamentary election, I recognise and respect the democratic choice of the Zambian people.

This moment calls for unity, maturity and a renewed commitment to the development of our nation. Regardless of political affiliation, we share a common responsibility to contribute positively to Zambia’s progress and to put the interests, aspirations and welfare of our people at the centre of national development.

I wish the President-Elect wisdom, strength and success as he continues to lead our country. May this new mandate be marked by greater economic opportunities, quality education, improved livelihoods, accountable leadership and inclusive development for all Zambians.

: After careful consideration, reflection and consultation with my team and supporters, I have decided not to petition the outcome of the Mwembezhi West election. This decision has not been easy. I remain concerned about some of the events and allegations surrounding the electoral process, including reports of violence, intimidation, political pressure and alleged vote-buying. However, I believe that at this moment, our focus should be on preserving peace, protecting the dignity of our people and maintaining the unity of our community.

I respect the democratic process, even where I may disagree with the outcome. My decision not to petition should therefore not be interpreted as an admission that I agree with everything that happened during the election. It is a conscious decision made in the interest of peace, stability and the people of Mwembezhi West.

To my supporters, I ask that you remain calm and peaceful. Let us not allow disappointment or political differences to divide us. We contested because we believed Mwembezhi West deserves equitable development, accountable leadership and opportunities for every citizen.

My commitment to Mwembezhi West does not end with an election. I will continue to advocate for better schools, improved roads, access to clean water, quality health services and equitable development across all communities.

I sincerely thank my campaign team, volunteers, supporters and every citizen who believed in our vision. Your support has been deeply humbling. To the people of Mwembezhi West: the election may be over, but our responsibility to our community continues.

: I wish to sincerely thank everyone who supported me throughout my campaign for Member of Parliament for Mwembezhi West. Your trust, courage and commitment to our democratic process will always be deeply appreciated.

Being an independent candidate is not a crime. It is a legitimate democratic right guaranteed to every citizen. I contested this election because I believe Mwembezhi West deserves equitable development, accountable leadership and representation that puts the interests of all communities first.

Sadly, this election was marked by incidents of violence, intimidation and reported threats. We also received serious allegations of political pressure on teachers and other public servants, as well as alleged vote-buying and the distribution of money to influence voters. These allegations deserve proper investigation.

I am particularly disappointed by reported remarks during the campaign suggesting that a Karanga cannot lead in Sala land. Such statements have no place in a democratic and united Zambia. Leadership should be determined by character, competence and the will of the people - not by tribe or origin.

Mr President, Mwembezhi West belongs to every citizen of Mwembezhi West, regardless of their background, family connections or political affiliation. No community should feel that it belongs exclusively to anyone.

I do not agree with the outcome of the election, and I will advise my supporters and the people of Mwembezhi West on the next steps after careful consideration and consultation. My commitment to the people of Mwembezhi West remains unchanged.

I will continue pursuing my programme of development and working for the people. I will continue advocating for water closer to our communities, improved schools, better roads and stronger clinics across Mwembezhi West.

To the people of Mwembezhi West, my message remains the same: equitable development, dignity and opportunity for every community.

To my campaign team, supporters, friends and everyone who stood with me, thank you sincerely. Your sacrifice and belief in this cause will never be forgotten.

May the Lord bless Mwembezhi West. May He bless Zambia.

: We are receiving deeply concerning reports of teachers and civil servants allegedly being pressured or instructed to interfere with the electoral process ahead of tomorrow’s election. We are also receiving reports that a former Member of Parliament has been visiting teachers at night and allegedly distributing money.

These are serious allegations that must not be ignored. Public servants must be allowed to perform their duties without fear, intimidation or political pressure, and every voter must be free to make their choice without coercion.

Mr President, we respectfully appeal to you to ensure that tomorrow’s election is conducted peacefully, freely and fairly. Political differences must never become a reason for violence, intimidation or abuse of public institutions.

Let the law take its course without fear or favour. Let the people decide. Let every vote count. Zambia belongs to all of us. Our democracy must be protected by all of us.

Petty politics, propaganda, violence and intimidation have no place in our campaign or in our democracy. Our people deserve a contest of ideas, policies and solutions that can move Mwembeshi forward.

I am a child of this soil, born in Mwembezhi, raised here and deeply rooted in this community. Zambia is not simply my home, it is the only nation I call my own. My commitment to Mwembeshi is therefore personal, enduring and unwavering.

Let us allow democracy to prevail. Let us compete with ideas, respect one another, reject violence and intimidation, and allow every citizen to exercise their democratic right freely and peacefully.
