WHEN SLAVERY STARTS LOOKING SWEET
Numbers 11:5 (KJV)
“We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick.”
There is a dangerous moment in the life of a believer—when God has delivered you, but your appetite has not changed.
Israel left Egypt physically, but Egypt remained in their memory. They remembered the taste, but forgot the torment. They called slavery “free” because it was familiar.
The problem was never the food—it was the appetite.
God gave them manna, but they craved what once enslaved them. Why? Because the flesh desires what is immediate, while God works through process, discipline, and dependence.
Many turn back not because the world is better—but because it is familiar, sensory, and requires less faith.
Don’t let temporary cravings make you forfeit eternal promises.
“I refuse to crave what once enslaved me. My appetite is changing. My taste is shifting. I will not go back—because where God is taking me is greater than where I came from!”
