Not all abuse is loud and obvious , which is why many women fail to recognise the signs.
Sometimes manipulation manifests as polite.
Sometimes it appears kind.
Sometimes it looks helpful.
Sometimes it sounds intelligent.
Sometimes it feels safe and warm.
Sometimes it appears thoughtful
Sometimes it seems honest.
Sometimes it appears to be sacrificial.
It looks anything but abusive.
You miss the signs and adjust to it.
You fail to recognise the danger until you are trapped.
Learn the signs and language of abuse before it’s too late.

1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be received. Bad company corrupts good morals.

Most women get stuck trying to fix a bad man. Holding on to a bad situation.
They think the can change him with their love. That if they love more, give more, do more, they might change for the better.
You can't change someone who doesn't want to be changed.
You can't change someone who is benefitting from your pain
Only God can change them
Instead the more you stay in a toxic relationship, the more you change, and not for the better
Safeguard your heart before you become bitter
Protect yourself before you become someone you don't recognise
Love yourself before you lose yourself

Matthew 7:6 Do not give what is holy to the dogs, nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.

Most women are so hurt in life, carrying unforgiveness and bitterness all because they are trying to make things work with someone who does not value them.
They give their best years, their love, attention, affection to a person who does not see their worth.
Being in a relationship with a narcissist is akin to giving what is precious to a swine.
They do not see your value
They do not see your worth
They do not treasure your love
The day you will realise this is the day you will let go of the bitterness and start healing.
The day you will realise your value and stop devaluing yourself before pigs is the day you will start to stand tall.
Know who you are
Know your value
Know your identity
Know your worth
Let go of things that steer you away from God and your purpose
Let go of people that enjoy seeing you in pain
Love yourself more than you love them

Hey sis,
I want you to remember that no matter how bad it may seem today, it shall pass.
Better days are coming.
Hold on to God
Don’t give up on your faith
Don’t give up on yourself
2 Corinthians 4:8-9
We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair, persecuted, but not forsaken, struck down , but not destroyed.
Everything you need is in Jesus Christ
Hope is in Him
Healing in Him
Joy in Him
Peace in Him
Victory in Him
Truth in Him
Take it all to Him

Now that you know that what you went through was not love
Now that you know that the attention and affection was just love bombing
The gifts were part of the bait to trap you
The ring didn’t mean love, it only meant he wanted to abuse you exclusively
Complaints about how bad your friends and relatives were was to make sure they isolated you from your support
Part of breaking the spell they put you under is to regain yourself and your identity
It means fighting for your right to being you
Fighting against their desire to control you
Fighting against manipulation
Finding the truth hidden behind the gaslighting
Fall in love with yourself and love who you are and embrace your flaws
Hold tight to your support
Strengthen your boundaries
Equip yourself with knowledge
Heal your emotions and let go of the things that hold you back
Believe that the ugly version of them is the real them not the facade you fell for
No matter how bad things may seem at the moment, the truth is that there is light at the end of the tunnel
Better days are coming
The sun will rise again
You will come back stronger and better than before if you give yourself permission

One of the most painful things about surviving abuse is the realisation that it was all a lie, nothing about that relationship was genuine, even the good times.
The love bombing that brought the euphoria of romance.
The mirroring that made you believe they were your soulmate because you had so much in common.
The future faking that kept you hoping for a better future ignoring the current abuse.
The trauma dumping with a fabricated sob story to activate your empathy.
The bread-crumbing that kept you chasing and yearning for their affection.
The intermittent reinforcement that kept you hoping for the next reward for good behaviour.
All those behaviours were meticulously calculated into getting you hooked and stuck in a cycle of abuse without you realising.
Most people believe abuse only happens if it’s physical yet the emotional, psychological and unseen scars are the worst as they leave you second guessing and blaming yourself.
Listen to your inner voice
Listen to your body
Trust your instincts
Surround yourself with people you trust
Love shouldn’t be confusing
Love shouldn’t make you neglect and lose yourself
Love shouldn’t rob you of your voice
Love shouldn’t mean sacrificing your needs all the time

The enemy knows your name but prefers to call you and remind you of your shame.
God knows your shame but calls you by name.
Calls you His own
Calls you beloved
Calls you worthy
Calls you chosen
Calls you precious
A narcissist twists your identity
The enemy distorts your reality

Know your identity in Christ
Know whose you are
Know who you belong to
Know what the word says about you
You are created in His image, after His likeness
You are fearfully and wonderfully made
You are the apple of His eye
You are His daughter
You are a ruler who has dominion
You are blessed
Highly favoured
Whose report will you believe?

Good to be back after the long break. I can’t wait to embark on this new chapter of my journey.
I have gained so much
I have lost so much
I have grown so much
I have learnt so much
Life taught me lessons I didn’t know I needed.
Some painful
Some beautiful
Some eye opening
Some still being processed
All I know is I am grateful for it all.
