General Advice: KEEP YOUR JOB AFTER ELECTIONS; YOUR FAMILY NEEDS IT.

In case you are a CIVIL SERVANT or (you) work in a PARASTATAL and a party which you are NOT supporting forms Government after 12th August, 2021, control your *emotions* very well. Do not post statements against that Government on Facebook or be openly political at work. You will be terminated or *retired using that vague term; โ€œPUBLIC INTERESTโ€*.

Political parties do not *pay* monthly salaries to their supporters. Your job does; so put your familyโ€™s interest first and engage in your politics *quietly*.

House Judiciary Committee approves articles of impeachment against Trump

The House Judiciary Committee approved two articles of impeachment against President Trump โ€” abuse of power and obstruction of Congress โ€” on Friday.

Why it matters: The party-line 23-17 votes, which were delayed after a marathon markup hearing on Thursday lasted until almost midnight, completes the House committees' impeachment work and advances the articles to the House chamber for a full floor vote next week.

After more than 14 hours of debate about altering the articles, each of the five amendments introduced by Republicans were voted down by the committee.

The only change that passed the committee was the substitution of "Donald John Trump" instead of "Donald J. Trump."

Substantively, the final text was unchanged.

What's next: As of now, the impeachment vote is expected to happen on Wednesday, sandwiched between a Tuesday vote on funding the government and a Thursday vote on the USMCA trade deal.

However, members warn that until it's officially scheduled the timeline could still change.

Multiple Democratic members, including those in vulnerable districts that voted for Trump, don't expect a lot of Democrats to vote against the articles.

But they do agree that there will likely be more defectors than there were on the vote launching a formal impeachment inquiry. Most members and committee staffers guess that roughly four to six moderate Democrats will break ranks

*THE NAKED TRUTH*
*Strange things we do in Africa in the name of "It's Our Culture*
*1. We care more for the dead than we do for the living!*
*2. We spend more to bury a person than we do to save their life.*
*3. We will not travel to go see a sick relative but will travel to bury him /her*
*4. People will rarely respect you while alive but will want to "pay their last respects" to your casket.*
*5. A person may NEVER receive roses in their entire life but they will get lots dumped on their graveyard!*
*6. We will spend a night at a neighbour's funeral and it will be our first time to see the inside of their house!*
*7. No one cares to know your village until you die and they will all fill car after car to "es**rt" your co**se*
*8. We will take the dead to the church knowing fully well they had nothing to do with worship while alive.*
*9. We might not have granite tops in our kitchens but use the granite in the graveyard!*
*10. An entire village might not have a single house with cement floors but the only place with cement will be a graveyard!*
*It is proposed we have "Cultural Reforms". We have a culture of "hypocrisy".. a culture that is "Pro-death" and NOT "Pro-life!"*
*We need to value life BEFORE death.*
*Please love people while they are alive, show them your kindness now that they need it, your presence at their funeral will never make up for your absence when they had the greatest need of you.*
If this can just challenge how one person thinks, am blessed.*

Cyclone Tips.

I thought to share a few safety tips I checked out on the internet should the Cyclone Idai hit.

1. Stay indoors, secure all doors and windows.
2. Stay clear from windows.
3. Switch of electricity, water and gas and remove all appliances from power outlets.
4. Get to the strongest point in the house. Bathrooms and corridors.
5. Should the house start to break, cover yourselves with mattresses and blankets, under a table, bed or strong bench.
6. Keep your emergency kit/first aid kit close by.
7.Let family, friends and neighbours know a warning has been issued.
8. Keep yourself updated on the situation and follow intructions issued by Met and DMMU.
9. Stock up with dried and canned food and bottled water as water pipes and other amenities maybe damaged. If piped water is running after the cyclone make sure to boil your water.
10. If you are driving stay clear of trees, electricity poles and water points. Leave the car and quickly find secure shelter. As vehicles can be easily blown away by the gushing winds.
11. If you are away from home find shelter near by do not attempt to return home.
12.Stay clear of the "storms eye" the epicenter of the storm. Usually looks calm but most dangerous as winds return in the opposite direction a lot of damage and destruction is caused .

United Prosperous and Peaceful Zambia (UPPZ) President Charles Chanda says he will not join the alliance of opposition political parties as it is only meant to enhance the UPNDโ€™s election chances.

Chand said the alliance partners were being blinded into believing that it is an equal relationship but only meant to prop up UNPD leader Hakainde Hichilema.

Speaking at the UPPZ Secretariat, Chanda said with elections slated for 2021 it was too early to ask everyone to join the alliance for the purpose of unseating the Patriotic Front.

He said currently no single political Party including the PF will attain the 50% plus one threshold in the 2021 elections.

Chanda said political parties should be allowed to campaign on their own and mobilise members until the first round of elections when possible alliances can be discussed.

He stated that it is dictatorial to be asked to only have one opposition leader contesting elections in 2021 against the Patriotic Front.

โ€œIf you look around the NDC, UPND and ourselves not even the PF will get 50% plus one threshold but is that enough to push us into an alliance? No let every political Party mobilise then talk about alliances after the first round,โ€ Chanda said.

The deceased identified as Bernard Mpundu of House number 138, Kawama Township had gone to visit his girlfriend Charity Nakainga aged 33 when her ex-lover Luckson Simwanza aged 50 stormed the place.
