Additionally, please, let's take time to also hold age appropriate safety awareness talks with our children. The topics could range from bullying, GBV, various forms of abuse, abstinence, etc.
As a school, we are highly committed to inculcating good morals in our children. However, a concerted effort with you will yield even better results.

🌍 International Day of Persons with Disabilities – Topgrade Academy Commemoration 🌍

Today, 3rd December, we proudly join the global community in commemorating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a day that reminds us of the power and necessity of inclusion, diversity, and equality. This year’s theme calls on institutions, communities, and individuals to work together in creating environments where everyone is valued, supported, and able to thrive.

At Topgrade Academy, we stand as an ally in promoting the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities. We believe that every learner—regardless of ability—deserves access to quality education, respect, and opportunities to shine. Inclusion is not just an idea for us; it is a practice rooted in our culture, reflected in our daily interactions, and embedded in our school policies. From classroom instruction to co-curricular activities, we strive to provide a safe, inclusive and accommodative environment where all learners feel seen, accepted, and empowered.

To honour this important day, our school held a local commemoration filled with creativity, learning, and meaningful reflection. Learners engaged in expressive arts, using poetry, music, and visual storytelling to share messages of acceptance and understanding. Our teachers facilitated **safe-space talks* that highlighted the importance of embracing each other's differences, challenging stereotypes, and treating everyone with empathy and fairness. These activities helped reinforce to our pupils that diversity is a strength—and kindness is a choice we make every day.

This achievement has set a positive foundation for even greater accomplishments ahead. Topgrade Academy: A Hallmark of Quality Education 🥳🎓

Our learners took part in an important environmental sensitization session conducted in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Local Council, and CityMop.

The initiative highlighted the value of Public–Private Partnerships (PPP) in fostering cleaner, healthier communities, and contributes directly to SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
The sensitization covered plastic pollution and cholera prevention—crucial topics during this season. Learners were encouraged to practise proper hygiene and embrace the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
Introducing Knowledge, Attitude and Practice (KAP) at a young age helps children develop lifelong environmentally responsible habits.

CALL TO ACTION: We encourage all parents to start using reusable shopping bags instead of plastics. This simple change at home can greatly reduce plastic waste and reinforce what our children learnt.

Today, 18th November 2025, we witnessed a truly special moment in our school community: the selection of the Student Leadership Team for the 2026 academic year. With a beautifully balanced group of 19 learners (10 girls and 9 boys), this new leadership structure reflects our belief in fairness, inclusivity, and giving every child the opportunity to shine.
On a glorious afternoon, learners and staff gathered as a family to celebrate this milestone. The joy was unmistakable—children danced, laughed, interacted, and shared in the excitement of the ceremony. Watching our pupils support one another and cheer for their peers was a reminder of why creating a warm, friendly learning environment matters so deeply.
