MY FINAL GOODBYE!!!

To My Parish Priest, Fr. Sakala and to all the priests present, to the Religious Sisters and Brothers, to the Civic Leaders, to the people of Assumption Parish and all the citizens of Mazabuka; to My Beloved Family, friends and my neighbours. Thank you for coming.

Fr. Sakala, I need to be pardoned today for not reminding the people of God gathered here to switch off their phones.

Today, since you are celebrating this special Mass in memory of me, I decided not to bother anyone as I did on a number of occasions especially on Sundays before Mass.
Why is the church quiet? I can feel from inside this casket that people's hearts are held still. The silence is too deep; I can't hear any phone ringing. The choir is mute!
Could this be the end of everything we have shared over the years?
Why is my family troubled? Why is everyone in shock? Even Bagoos and many friends in town can't believe it. My neighbours in Stage 2 and surrounding places will share my story. The Men's Council and those from Zone 2 will look for me but they will see me no more. I know they will still ask, "Where is Mr. Muzumbwe?"

Fr. Sakala, My Parish Priest, farewell to you and everyone. Don't keep the people for too long for my sake. Immediately after this, tell them to get back to their usual businesses but thank them on my behalf for their time and presence; even you, Fr. Sakala still need to prepare for tomorrow's Celebration of Pentecost. So sad I will miss that one! But I ask for one favour; before Mass begins tomorrow, whether it will be inside this sacred church or outside, kindly remind the parishioners to switch their phones off!

To My Family, friends and neighbours, thank you for coming to bid farewell to me. That, I don't take for granted. Your tears will be turned into dancing. I have gone to a better place and I'm in safe hands.
Finally, Muyotujana Cemetery awaits me; the place where I escorted many legends of Mazabuka.

So, here it is; the final sigh; the casket closing after people and my beloved family have viewed my body.
The Final Goodbye!!!

There is no turning back Ba Father; No place to hide; A love that lived, but slowly died.

I forever remain yours,

Dominic Malambo Muzumbwe.
