Sunday was truly an unforgettable day as Rev. Fr. Vincent Sakala, OMI, blessed a brand-new TATA 44-seater bus for the Assumption Academy of Excellence. The bus, an initiative of the school in collaboration with the church, marks a significant milestone in the institution’s growth and commitment to providing quality education.
During the ceremony, Rev. Fr. Sakala officially handed over the bus keys, the white book, and the warrant booklet to the Church Council Chairperson, Mr. Patrick Siabenzu, who handed over to School Board Chairperson, Mr. Harrison Banda, who in turn presented them to the Headteacher, Mr. Gift Sikombe.
In his remarks, the priest described the bus as just the beginning, assuring the community that even greater developments are on the way. He expressed gratitude to parishioners and parents for their continued support and encouraged more families to enrol their children at the school.
Receiving the bus, Headteacher Mr. Sikombe reaffirmed the school’s dedication to academic excellence. He highlighted the outstanding achievement of a 100% pass rate in last year’s Grade 7 examinations, the school’s first intake, and emphasized that the institution is now aiming even higher, striving to become the best school not only in the district but across the province.
