2023 curriculum frame work

1. Primary school will end at grade 6.

2. Learners will not automatically progress to secondary school after sitting examinations at grade 6.

3. Junior and senior secondary school merged into forms (1 to 4)

4. Introduction of Advanced Secondary level or A- levels ( form 5 and 6)

5. R.E 2044 and 2046 merged.

6. Social studies has been split into it's constituent Subjects of Geography; History and Civics Education.

7. Science 5124 abolished. It's now Physics or Chemistry or both.

8. Integrated science has been split into it's constituent Subjects of Biology; Physics and Chemistry.

9. Schools to offer specialized O'level and A- level pathways depending on the guidelines to be provided.

𝐄𝐂𝐙 𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐎𝐅 𝐄𝐗𝐀𝐌𝐒 & 𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒..

✅Key Information to Note:

After the initial post on this topic, I have received numerous calls and messages seeking clarification on the process. Please be advised that this information will take approximately 3 minutes to read.

Did you know that?

1. The Examinations Council of Zambia (𝐄𝐂𝐙) 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐍𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞 within the first 5 months after the release of results. After this period, a fee of K1,200 applies.

Note: Name 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 is different from Name 𝐑𝐄𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 or 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐆.

2. ECZ does not support 𝐍𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 . For example, if you discover that your son registered for exams using his mother's surname "Kangwa" instead of the father's "Mvula," and you wish to have it replaced, ECZ does not support this, as it implies creating a new person in their system.

𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐎𝐅 𝐄𝐗𝐀𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐏𝐀𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒- In case of dissatisfaction, ECZ allows for the remarking of exam papers within 5 months after results are released.

4. 𝐕𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐃𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐃 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐄𝐗𝐀𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐍𝐔𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑 - The Grade Nine (9) Exam number is valid for 3 years (from passing grade 8 upwards), while the Grade 12 is valid for 5 years (from passing grade 10 upwards).

5. 𝐈𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐦𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬, 𝐄𝐂𝐙 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐍𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 upon submission of substantive evidence, such as medical documents in the case of illness, provided in a timely manner.

6. 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐁𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐎𝐅 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐔𝐋𝐓𝐒 - The fee for combining results at Grade 9 is K600, while at Grade 12/GCE, it is K1,000.

7. 𝐑𝐄𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐂𝐄𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐄 - In cases of damage or loss, ECZ offers certificate replacement at all le

Schools will remain closed until 12th February, 2024, the minister of Education Douglas Syakalima has announced. This is due to skyrocketing numbers of cholera cases which have even spread to the other parts of the country away from Lusaka. We are advised to take care of ourselves and not to worry as no learning time will be lost. TAKE CARE.

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
The Minister of Education Honorable Douglas Syakalima has announced that the school holidays will be extended for three more weeks. This means that schools will open on 29th January, 2024. This decision has been made due to the rising number of cholera cases in the country. Thank you.

Girl Power!!!!!!
It is important to let every girl out there that nothing is impossible if you put your efforts to it.
There is no other way other than education to a better successful life.
We tell our girls here(at our school) that we aim for nothing but excellence. That's why we are a school of excellence.
We have alot of girls from every background. But we always encourage them them that life wish not determined by where you come from but what you do with it.
We encourage our girls to work hard and prove to them that there is a world waiting for you out there, if you work hard, a better successful world.
It does not matter whether you are from a poor family in matanda, chakulya, chansa, mansa or anywhere, if you study and work harder, you will be more than what you can imagine.
Ours here is, to nature and train them for that better life.
We work hard as members of staff teacher and administration to asher the girl child into a better life.
We also thank the govt for the free education policy which has seen a number of girls come back to school because they couldn't manage to pay for their school fees and requests.
The govt has not just ended there but the timely grants that help in the running of better education esp for rural schools like ours.
As we close 2023, we would like to sincerely thank the parents that entrusted us with training their children.
We have had a successful year at grades 7 and 9. Though we have had some challenges, we can also smile and thank God for the success we have scored as a team.
To 2024, we say, we look forward to more of successes and more blessings.
To the members of staff, you have been amazing.
To the community and the PTA, we sincerely thank you for your wonderful support and we look for more in 2024.
I truly thank you all and God richly Bless you.
