In this video, you will see how modeling works over time, we were modeling the language concept of the color red by keeping it simple and repeatedly labeling it “red, red” while showing the child the cup and using both visual and verbal cues. At that moment, the child did not immediately understand what we were trying to teach.
However we consistently kept doing it with the child and their was an improvement, as the child responded much better to the concept. This shows that learning does not always happen instantly; sometimes children need repeated exposure before they understand.
One common beginner’s mistake is expecting the child to get it on the first attempt, but language learning does not work that way. Instead, we must keep modeling consistently and give the child many opportunities to hear and understand the language over time.

Today's Task: Modelling Colours with Building Blocks for Our Non-Verbal Learners.
Today, we explored colours in a hands-on way with our non-verbal learners! 🧱 We used building blocks and a simple, effective approach:
- The Activity:
- Teacher held a coloured block and said the colour.
- A child was encouraged to place it on a matching coloured block in a structure. We repeated with red, green, blue and orange … until they “got it”! 😊
Why using Building Blocks: building blocks works wonders in
1. Tactile Learning: Blocks are fun to touch and manipulate and perfect for hands-on learning!
2.Visual Cues: Bright colours + matching = understanding without words.
3.Encourages Interaction: Even without words, kids show understanding and cooperation.
Let’s keep making learning colourful and fun! 💡

At The Play Hub, we believe every child learns differently and colouring is a game changer for non-verbal and autistic learners🌟
Why is Colouring a game-changer for non-verbal and autistic learners?
1.Calms Sensory Needs: A soothing activity that reduces anxiety and helps focus.
2.Builds Motor Skills: Improves fine motor control and hand-eye coordination – a stepping stone to writing.
3.Expresses Emotions: Non-verbal and autistic kids communicate feelings through colours when words don’t come easy.
4.Boosts Creativity & Confidence: A canvas for imagination + pride in every stroke!
5.Supports Routine & Patience: A structured, predictable activity that’s both calming and empowering.
Let’s celebrate diverse learning paths! Colouring isn’t just fun – it’s a tool for growth.
