Climate Education In Southern Province

The effects of climate Change are now a nightmare in most Zambia households and everyone must be involved in the solution. In partnership with Network for community Development Zambia, we undertook climate education tour at 5 secondary schools in Southern province.

The schools are MAKOYE BOARDING SECONDARY SCHOOL,MAZABUKA. and .Joseph girls sec in Mazabuka, Kaumba Secondary School , girls sec and Rusangu secondary school in Monze.

Given that Southern province is the breadbasket of the country, we need more young people to be involved in the climate change space and offer solutions that will make communities better.

We believe that the pupils will be ambassadors of change and bring a revolution in the fight against climate injustice.

We call upon interested stakeholders to join hands with us as we work together to solve community challenges.

BOREHOLE PROJECT COMPLETE✅

Wednesday, 11th October, 2023 marked a historic milestone in the lives of people of Naluvwi Village in Mumbwa District.

The official handover of the two boreholes drilled with the help of Minds For Change and other partners that saw this dream become a reality.

Access to clean and healthy drinking water is a necessity for all of us. After over 3 decades the day finally came for the residents of Naluvwi Village to finally have their own share of this necessity.

Even after this success, there's still alot more work to be done to ensure even more people facing similar challenges have access to fresh clean water.

As such we call upon everyone that is willing to partner with us to come on board and help ensure we improve access to fresh drinking water to the most affected people around our country.

CLIMATE COMMUNITY AWARENESS.

We spent the morning yesterday engaging with members of the community in the rural of Mumbwa District.

Among the issues discussed are issues bordering on Climate Change and it's impacts on the community. The major issue that came out from the locals is access to clean and safe drinking water. The water they drink on a day to day basis is far from fit for human consumption.

As such as an organization, we have taken it upon ourselves to see how best we can help curb this challenge by doing our part to help them access the much desired water.

The responsibility of cushioning those hardly hit by the impacts of climate change lies with all of us. As such we are encouraged to help where we can and in whatever way possible. And with concerted efforts we can do it. We are implementing borehole water projects for them as an organisation.

ITEZHI TEZHI BOREHOLE PROJECTS

Excited to announce the Minds For Change Borehole projects to be undertaken in Central province. This is a response to Climate Change that has had devastating effects on our environment and in certain instances, affected sources of livelihoods.

Most of the people in Itezhi tezhi depend on farming, vegetable growing and animal keeping for their survival. But over the years, the change in rain patterns, the drying of rivers and human activities such as deforestation has resulted in reduced economic activities.

As Minds For Change, working in collaboration with other will In October, 2023 undertake a borehole project were we shall drill boreholes for communities. This is at no cost to the people but a measure to mitigate effect of climate change.
