VALUE ADDITION
Two entrepreneurs are at the market. One cultivates cassava & groundnuts which he sells as raw agro products.
The other entrepreneur buys raw cassava & groundnuts from the cultivator. He soaks cassava, add salt & roast it. He decide to grill groundnuts, add salt & pack the products in small porous packaging plastics & thereafter sells them at a higher price than he buys as raw materials. This briefly explains VALUE ADDITION.
Value addition draws a margin between low & higher return.
The market is ever open to both entrepreneurs, a raw material producer & the value addition entrepreneur. But the cycle of high profit favours entrepreneurs who takes keen interest in product value addition.
Plan to brand yourself, be strategic & always present high value products because some of your customer targets & followers demand for more than a raw material.
