What started as a spark is now on a rollercoaster and moving faster than we anticipated. The Gift of Chess has played a big role in making sure Chess sets are accessible and available in facilities.
On the 14th of August, WGM Dana Reizniece also director of the FIDE - International Chess Federation , Mr. Lewis Ncube the former President of African Chess Confederation- Confédération Africaine des Echecs Mr. Leslie Chikuse the President of CFZ Chess Federation of Zambia and Mr Prosper Musemvu the ambassador for the Gift of Chess paid a courtesy call to the office of the Commissioner of Correctional Service. In our discussion, we talked about why chess should be supported in these walls as well as how we can collaborate and make it possible. Ms Martha Ngoma the Deputy Commissioner for Correctional Service applauded the efforts everyone has made and promised to make sure Chess is promoted and supported.
