LEARNER DRIVER INTRODUCTION TO THE TERM "HAZARD."

What's a Hazard?
-Anything or a situation that could cause harm or expose you to a risk of causing or being involved in a road accident. It's anything that causes a driver to slow down, change direction or stop.

*_Classification of Hazards_*
Hazards can be classified in three different ways i.e Static hazard, moving/mobile hazards and weather change hazard.

*_i. Static_*- Static hazards include all objects that remain in their position till you pass them, and these include: change in road conditions, road signs, parked vehicles, junctions, plus more. Therefore, as a driver you must be able to identify and look well ahead till you pass them.

*_ii. Moving hazards_*- include: other vehicles and motorcycles, cyclists and users of powered mobility. Pedestrians, animals, road workers including persons directing traffic. These are rated in high percentage as the main cause of accidents.

*_iii. Change of weather_*- This is a hazard caused due to unexpected atmospheric change that results in things such as: rains, mist, fog, smoke, wind, floods, dust etc. As a responsible driver once such are detected, you must reduce the speed and take full control of the motor vehicle as such conditions could lead you to an accident.
