HAKAINDE HICHILEMA WROTE;
In an economy like this one , where the cost of living is K8,000, but the average salary is K3,300, how can you ask that ex students pay back their student loans?
UPND will suspend loan repayments immediately we are in Government. There is no need to stress employees in a non-functioning economy.

The average Zambian male consumes 20 bottles of beer per week. That's 80 bottles per month and 960 bottles per year. Now 20 bottles is nothing to some men. I know people who can consume 30 to 35 bottles in one week. So we know that one male is able to consume close to 1000 bottles per year! And on average a bottle costs 25 kwacha. This means the average working class male in Zambia spends close to K25,000 on alcohol every year. This means a million men in one year can make 25 billion kwacha for Zambia breweries. Now I know these stats aren't accurate 100 percent, but we should ask ourselves where all this money is going. What has Zambia breweries contributed to our society? Have they sponsored any social activities in these communities plagued by excessive alcohol consumption by their consumers? Zero, all they do is print "drink responsibly" in a very small font on their bottles like their profits don't depend on irresponsible consumers.
