🇿🇲 Tribute to The Former President of Zambia, Edgar Chagwa Lungu (1956–2025)
As we come to terms with the passing of the sixth Republican President, Edgar C. Lungu, we reflect not just on the man he was, but on the legacy he leaves behind.
He may have been a figure of debate in politics, but today, we choose to honour his contributions and remember his service to the nation he loved.
As we mourn him, here are five great things he did for the nation while he was president:
1. Massive Infrastructure Development
His administration transformed Zambia’s landscape—building roads, bridges, and public facilities that connected communities and supported growth.
2. Diversification of the Energy Sector
He championed investment in solar and hydro power, helping reduce load-shedding and expanding Zambia’s energy capacity.
3. Healthcare Expansion
He prioritized the health sector with new hospitals, clinics, and an improved pandemic response during COVID-19.
4. Empowerment of Youth and Women
Through various programs, he promoted entrepreneurship and opportunity among Zambia’s young people and women.
5. Peaceful Democratic Transition in 2021
He peacefully handed over power—choosing national peace over political power and strengthening Zambia’s democratic values.
🕊️ Rest in peace, President Edgar C. Lungu. Your service will not be forgotten.
God bless his soul. God bless Zambia. And more importantly, God comfort his family.
