The promise of overnight wealth seduces vulnerable individuals grappling with economic hardship, luring them into a downward spiral of debt and despair.

Psychologically, the belief in a jackpot salvation overrides rationality, trapping individuals in a cycle of financial ruin and dependence.

It suffices to say that pathological gambling can directly trigger or worsen symptoms of depression, generalized anxiety, obsessions, and personality disorders.

Just not too long ago, a school goer used his school fees on aviator and lost the money. He then went forth into su***de because of unrealistic expectations.

I hope this article has been helpful. The issue of gambling has been repeated many times but it seems that people are just into it too much. Despite vast dissemination of the negative side of gambling, little or no portion of people take it seriously. Hope you're among the few who have abstained from the addiction of GAMBLING.

ECONOMIST Yusuf Dodia has projected a further appreciation of the Kwacha against the United States (US) Dollar and other foreign currencies, highlighting that the currency could hit K15 to US$1 in the last half of this year.

In an interview in Lusaka, Mr Dodia attributed the appreciation of the Kwacha to an intervention by the Bank of Zambia to introduce an export proceeds tracking framework.

“Through this framework, exporters are declaring an estimated $30million into the Central Bank per day which means the country has increased Dollar liquidity on the local market hence the Kwacha’s appreciation. Key to sustaining this intervention for the next few months could see us get to a level of K15 to a Dollar which will greatly also positively impact on the rate of inflation. ”- Mr Dodia explained.

AFTER snapping its 75-day run of declines after the Bank of Zambia (BoZ) increased the statutory reserve ratio and significantly strengthening against the United States dollar this month, the Kwacha has been hailed as the best in the world.

Acting Minister of Information and Media Brenda Tambatamba says appreciation of the Kwacha against major currencies is a reflection of the efforts Government has put in place to strengthen the economy and promote sustainable growth and development.

Before Yesterday,the 20th February, the local currency was trading at K21.00 and K21.40 for buying and selling respectively.

Among global currencies tracked by Bloomberg, the Kwacha has outpaced Kenya’s shilling to become the best in the world after strengthening by almost 17.7 percent against the dollar…..
