PRESIDENTIAL APPRECIATION STATEMENT
To His Excellency Mr. Hakainde Hichilema President of the Republic of Zambia
Your Excellency,
We, the Evelyn Hone College Student Teacher Association, express our profound appreciation for your bold leadership in enacting Free Education into law and introducing the School Feeding Programme.
By abolishing school fees, you have removed the greatest barrier keeping children out of classrooms. As student teachers, we witness the impact daily: girls returning to school, learners thriving because of school meals, and hope restored to families across Zambia.
This is an investment in our profession. Mass teacher recruitment, CDF classrooms, desks, and the School Feeding Programme show that your government pursues both access and quality. You have given us, the next generation of educators, a mission to be proud of.
We further thank Douglas siyakalima, MP, Minister of Education, for ensuring the School Feeding Programme remains free for all learners Kellvin mambwe, Permanent Secretary Educational Services, for driving quality and nutrition in schools and Felix Chipota MutatiMP, Minister of Technology and Science, for advancing digital learning that prepares our learners for the future.
Free Education and School Feeding are nation building. They are the foundation of Vision 2030. The child in Grade 1 today is Zambia’s engineer, nurse, and teacher of 2045.
As EHCOSTA, we pledge to match your commitment with service: academic excellence, professional ethics, and deployment to every district, especially rural areas. We will be champions of retention and defenders of quality education.
Thank you, Your Excellency, and thank you to siyakalima, mambwe
