Nominal interest rate is the interest rate charged on any savings, investment, loan, or bond. Nominal interest rate does not include inflation.
For Example:
If you deposit k5,000 in the bank at a 5 percent nominal interest rate, you will receive k250 every year.
Nominal interest rate = 5000 ร 5%= k250.

If I had the chance to converse with one person for an hour, I would choose Dr. Dambisa Moyo, a Zambian economist and global thought leader on macroeconomics and development. As someone who grew up in the same country and is studying Economics, I deeply admire her journey from Zambia to becoming a respected voice on the world stage.
I would love to ask her about the challenges she faced navigating global spaces as an African economist, and how she balances academic rigor with practical solutions for development. Her work on rethinking aid, promoting investment, and advocating for structural economic reform aligns closely with my own passion for empowering youth and transforming African economies.
A conversation with her would not only give me valuable insights into my field, but also serve as a powerful reminder that itโs possible to rise from humble beginnings and influence global discourseโsomething I aspire to do through EconoRise and my future career.Dambisa Moyo

Money serves as a medium of exchange, facilitating the trade of valuable products and services. When central banks print money, they don't distribute it freely. Instead, they exchange it for assets, such as Treasury bills or bonds. This principle ensures that newly created money is backed by value, adhering to the economic rule that money should only be created when it can generate value. The economic rule of money is that you only touch it when you create value.
