FASTING IS NOT FOR THE BODY, DON'T STARVE YOURSELF TO DEATH
“Fasting Is Not For The Body, Don’t Starve Yourself To Death”
CORRECTIONS ON SOME MISCONCEPTIONS REVOLVING AROUND THE BODY OF CHRIST, don't deprive your body of food in the name of fasting to GAIN POWERS.
EACH time you eat in the morning, it is called breakfast because you have fasted over the night.
However, RELIGION made us believe that fasting is staying away from food. Daniel’s fast in the Bible as an example saying, It was recorded Daniel fasted 21 days I ate no pleasant food, no meat or wine came into my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled." Daniel 10: 2-3 and he ate no pleasant bread. That means he ate bread. Fasting is like eating food without meat; not because you don’t have the meat but you decided to fast away the meat.
YOU can fast your mobile phone, television and work by shutting them down. Each time you fast without reading the BIBLE, you are on a HUNGER STRIKE.
“Fasting is a discipline that enables you to concentrate on your fellowship with God. Many people believe they FAST FOR POWERS, No. YOU SHALL RECEIVE POWER AFTER THE HOLY GHOST IS COME, Acts 1:8 KJV not after fasting. Fasting doesn’t kill the flesh, the flesh is a way of thinking. Deal with your way of thinking and stop starving yourself to death.
“Your body is the Temple of the Holy Ghost, stop punishing it. It has been bought with a price, don’t abuse it. Treat it well, eat well, sleep well and get some rest. There are things that are more important than food”.
*FASTING*
*What is FASTING? And why FAST?*

1 Samuel 15:22...And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
You cannot serve God on your own terms...You can only please God when you know and do/act on his word.
The sin of disobedience is as idolatry, and rebellion as witchcraft.
To claim to serve God outside his word is rebellion.
Therefore, we act on God's word as He(God) wants it to be done.
Fasting is to abstain from food, Water inclusive. For food is anything you take in.
Fasting from the old testament;
The Old and New testaments have similarities in the essence of practices. Eg.; Giving.
Giving in the old testament is seen in Tithing and it was mandatory or defaulters would be cursed. In the new testament, giving is as we have been prospered.
2 Corinthians 9:7-8
1 Corinthians 16:2
Galatians 6:8-10
Ephesians 4:28
Acts 20:33-35
Acts 2:4
2 Corinthians 9:8-10
In the new testament, we have no requirements to give. We give what we decide, cheerfully and without grudge. Our giving is a reflection of our prosperity.
In the new testament, it is more blessed to give than to receive. No percentages, we give generously. We give because God has given us not so that he(God) can give us in return. We give in love and by faith.
Thus, the old and new testaments differ in how and why we do what we do.
2 Samuel 12:15-16
David fasted to seek God. A sign to appeal to God for the sin he's committed. Also in Ezra 8:21-23, Isaiah 58:6-9, Nehemiah 1:3-4, Joel 1:14, Joel 2:15-16..., they all fasted to get God's attention for him to do something for them.
Man's fall in Genesis 3 was his separation from God. And since the fall, man began to seek for God through many sacrifices and offerings to appease and get God's attention.
Hebrews 11:4, Genesis 6-7-8...All these were done in search for God, until Jesus came.
Man always sought a medium to get God's attention, until Jesus' arrival. When Jesus came, he needed no medium to offer himself to God.
Matthew :17-18, Galatians 3:13...Christ fulfilled the law in the offering of himself. Romans 20:1-4.
CHRIST is the fulfillment and end of the law. Galatians :11-13, 1 Corinthians 6:11, 1 Corinthians 1:29-31.
In the new testament, our sanctification and righteousness is a person. We received him by believing the gospel, not because we fasted.
We have a right standing with God, even before we knew how to fast and pray. Hebrews 3:1, Hebrews 2:10-11, 1 Corinthians 1:2.
The believer is a saint and is sanctified.
We are not saints because we are without wrong or because we don't do wrong, but because we were declared saints by God himself. Ephesians 2:19-21
We are saints, and we're being perfected.
It is not the perfection that makes us saints but I am a Saint and so I am being perfected. Ephesians 4:11-12, Ephesians 1:3-6, Ephesians 1:7-8.
God accepted us and declared us saints in Christ, when we believed the gospel.
Jesus is the sacrifice for sins, not prayer or fasting. We (In Christ) did nothing and do nothing to seek God's face.
We have the face of God...2 Peter 3:12.
We own God's face...Hebrews 13:5, Matthew 28:18, John 14:16.
And God's face will never be apart from us. God lives in us, by His spirit Forever.
If you seek God's face by fasting, you're sinning...It's the sin of unbelief.
Remember, anything not of faith is sin.
However, Jesus fasted, but not to seek God's face.
God was already pleased in him...Matthew 4:2, Matthew 3:17.
Jesus also never fasted for anointing. He's been anointed with the Holy Ghost and power.
Jesus' fasting was rather for Consecration to the ministry upon him on the earth.
Thus, we believers don't fast for power, God's face or anointing. We have all of those in us. We don't even fast for protection. We're Eternally secure in Christ.
We fast for communion, devotion and intimacy with God. We don't have communion with God to get him to love us, It is for us to know him more, to know how much he's loved us more.
We fast to walk in the fellowship we already have in Christ and not to seek fellowship.
Fasting, like faith, deals with us and not God. Romans 8:32.
FASTING benefits us, not God...Matthew 6:16. Fasting is not to make God see us...Luke 18:19. Fasting is not for show off. John 5:33-35, John 16:19-22.
Fasting is on us. To help us to be effective. It has no spiritual benefits where God is concerned. Acts 13:1-3
James 5:16...Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual "fervent" prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Fasting is part of "fervency".
We know the answers to all our prayers, we know the Father's will because we have the mind of Christ. So we pray from Answers, knowing that whatsoever we declare comes to pass. Matthew 11:33
