No, AIDS can't be reversed back to HIV.

When someone progresses from HIV to AIDS, it means their immune system has been severely damaged, and they've developed one or more opportunistic infections or cancers.

Antiretroviral therapy (ART) can effectively suppress the HIV virus, allowing the immune system to recover some of its function, but the damage already done can't be undone.

Think of it like breaking a vase - you can glue it back together, but it'll always have cracks. Similarly, ART can help repair the immune system, but some damage might be permanent.

With effective treatment, a person with AIDS can become healthier, and their CD4 count can increase, but they'll still be considered to have AIDS in remission or managed, rather than reverting back to HIV.
