o City and Guilds, LCCIEB and LCM for various programs covering Engineering, Business courses among other vocational programs in a bid to contribute to the fulfillment of government policy of supplying qualified human resources. In 2010, the University went through a management buy-out which gave birth to a new registration of the institution under the name “Eden Institute”. In the same year management secured affiliation with Rusangu University to operate as a satellite center for the University and we were allowed to be offering Secondary Teachers Diploma. The University that started with a total of 15 full time students and 17 distant students now boasts of 3000 students. The university has two full-fledged specialised faculties namely faculty of Education and The faculty of Health Sciences. In 2013 the University managed to get affiliated to The University of Zambia for the Primary Teachers Diploma program and also got registered with the Ministry of Education as well as Health professions council of Zambia. We are currently affiliated to three Universities and also registered with the Ministry of Education and General Nursing Council. In order to effectively execute its overall mandate and ensure quality delivery of education and training to meet clients’ needs, the institution was established to pursue the following objectives:

a) To become a premier institution that provides need based and demand driven quality academic programmes. c) To improve quality assurance using nationally and internationally recognized benchmarks. d) To produce skilful and competent graduates. e) To provide continuing education for the local community in professional and academic studies. f) To promote women’s participation in science related training. g) To promote the participation of disabled and other disadvantaged persons in our training.
