My Journey In Chess, My Life.
(The life of a chess coach).

I introduced my mind to the game of kings. I fell in love with the sixty four (64) squares. Seemingly boring to many, became my everyday life, my companion.
Learning ways through my street (Files) leading to home tag number (Ranks) taught me a good way of recognizing patterns through each individual squares.

I thought I was just learning a game, little did I realise I was learning the art to life.
I found peace and a lost excitement. To every blunder I would be hurting, to every candidate move I felt the joy.
Lonely moments became no more sad.

The quest to mastery isn't any easy route, I don't regret anything.
I was the little pawns always put ahead in battles. My spirit slowly started to get firm and brave, Oh I built the sovereignty over my thoughts and actions.

In moments I sat stuck contemplating on next moves, I sit building a greater empire of brilliance to excellence. My thoughts and reality entwined.

I am the Bishop tactically lethal and ruthless in both decision making and implementing.
I admire the ancient Knights, unpredictable in their nature.

As the lady Queen proudly hovering marking her territories, I gladly build a warm castle to her rest and comfort on her safety.

I did not emerge a Zambian champion, African champion or world champion. But I am proud of the empire of future masters I am building.

First Women's World Chess Champion.

The first Women’s World Chess Champion, Vera Menchik, was born on February 16, 1906, 115 years ago today.

In 1927, London hosted the first Women’s World Chess Championship, and Menchik, then representing Russia, won it with a superb score: +10−0=1. She defended her title successfully in every other championship in her lifetime (1930, 1931, 1933, 1935, 1937 and 1939).

The "Vera Menchik club" of players she defeated included Max Euwe, Samuel Reshevsky, Friedrich Sämisch, Sultan Khan, and many others.
