MTENDERE RISE UP... know your role in governance.
Mtendere Is My Hood stands on the belief that a community shapes its own destiny when its people act with unity, clarity and responsibility.
As a non‑political, community‑centred group made up of current and former residents, our power has never come from aligning with parties or personalities. It comes from our shared commitment to fairness, accountability and the wellbeing of every household in Mtendere.
Good governance is not something that happens far away in offices or meetings. It begins right here, in our streets, our homes, our conversations and our collective expectations. When residents participate, by asking questions, monitoring services, sharing verified information, and speaking up respectfully. We create a culture where leaders, institutions and service providers know that Mtendere is paying attention. This is how communities protect themselves from neglect, misinformation and unaccountable leadership.
As we approach 2026, our responsibility becomes even more important. Election years often bring noise, tension and competing narratives. But our role is simple and powerful: to remain principled, peaceful and focused on issues that matter, available clean water, safety, youth opportunities, sanitation, fair development, and dignity for all. We do not take sides; we take a stand for accountability.
By educating ourselves, documenting challenges, promoting peace, and insisting on transparency from anyone who holds power, we become a strong watchdog for good governance. When we do this consistently, we send a clear message: Mtendere deserves leaders who serve with honesty, and we will hold everyone to the same standard.
Our vision calls us to be well‑governed, committed and forward‑looking. That vision becomes real when each resident participates, when we work together, and when we protect the values that have always defined our community. This is how we secure a future where Mtendere grows, thrives and remains a place we are proud to call home.
TOGETHER WE CAN!!
Big shout out to my new rising fans! Maureen Mweetwa Johnson, Clara Kimmy Kapenda

On the 3rd of January, 2025 I received a call that our cousin Ngosa Christopher Chimbukuma had collapsed and died at a local club around midnight, no much details were given. However, after carrying out an investigation the very night, we were told that some concerned club patrons put him on a taxi and drove him to a hospital or clinic somewhere, unfortunately they were not too sure where exactly, the details were very vague. His contact number has been off and none of his friends know anything.
So, the following day I reported the matter to the police, they checked their records and there was no brought in dead case (BID). The Police advised we also consider checking the hospital and Clinic wards, incase he was resuscitated.
That very week, we decided to begin a traumatizing search, Hospitals, Clinics mortuary and wards to look for my cousin. Searched Kalingalinga clinic, Mtendere clinic, UTH and Levy mortuary unclaimed bodies, ICU and all Wards but to no avail.
During that night’s investigation, many confirmed that indeed Ngosa Chimbukuma died that very night and his body was taken away. It’s been 3months now, we have not come across any information regarding this case.
Now The question is, where is Ngosa’s body?
If indeed his dead, we want his body, so that we give him a befitting and descent burial. 🙏🏾
Kindly asking for any information assistance, from anyone that may have details with respect to this.
