At 8 years old We'd say hello to strangers on the street
They'd wave and smile as they passed us by
And we'd think it was neat
At 10 years old we'd climb street poles
with dirty, naked feet
When we were 12 the local pool was the place where we would meet
We'd back flip dive

to escape the sweltering heat
At 15 we would kiss
