A little glimpse into our first week at SPK!

Our first week has been filled with new experiences, new friendships and plenty of opportunities to explore, create, play and learn.

From discovering the classroom to getting outside, trying new activities and getting to know the people around them, our learners have been busy making SPK their own.

And while every child has experienced their week a little differently, one thing has been at the heart of it all: giving children the time, space and support to settle in, feel comfortable and enjoy being here.

We’re so proud of the little moments that have made up our first week and we’re only getting started. ❤️

Today, SPK welcomed our very first learners!

After months of planning, preparing and building, our school finally began to feel like the place we have been imagining for so long.

Today was filled with new faces, new routines, new friendships and so many little moments of discovery.

For our children, it was the beginning of a new journey.
For our educators, it was the beginning of putting our vision for learning into practice.
And for SPK, it was a day we will always remember.

We are so grateful to our founding families for trusting us to be part of their children’s early years and for taking this first step with us.

Our doors are open. Our journey has begun.

Meet the team behind SPK!

A school is more than its classrooms and curriculum. It is the people who welcome children each morning, guide them through their day, celebrate their progress and help them feel that they belong.

As we get ready to open our doors, we’re excited to introduce some of the educators who will help make SPK the warm, purposeful place we hope it will be.

Learning takes time. A child may need to encounter an idea several times, in different ways and through different experiences, before it becomes something they truly understand and can use independently.

And repetition doesn't have to mean doing the exact same activity over and over. Each experience helps strengthen the learning and gives children another opportunity to make connections.

At SPK, we believe meaningful learning takes time and children deserve the opportunity to revisit, practise and build on what they know.

Progress continues at SPK!

This week, we’re giving our swimming pool a fresh new look; preparing a space where our learners will have opportunities to develop their swimming skills, build confidence and enjoy being active.

Swimming is about more than learning to move through the water. It can help children develop coordination, strength, independence and confidence, while creating opportunities for enjoyment and making memories along the way.

There’s still work to be done, but with every step, SPK is becoming more real.

A growth mindset teaches children that they are not limited by what they can do today. With encouragement, practice and the confidence to keep trying, they can learn, improve and discover what they’re capable of.

Instead of “I can’t do it,” we want children to learn to say “I can’t do it… yet.”

At SPK, we believe mistakes are part of learning and that every small step forward is worth celebrating. Learning isn’t about being perfect, it’s about growing.

Our first library books have arrived, and we can’t wait to see the stories, conversations and discoveries they inspire!

At SPK, we believe that a love of reading is about more than learning how to read.
Books give children opportunities to imagine, explore, ask questions, discover new ideas and see the world from different perspectives. They can become a source of comfort, curiosity and endless adventure.
