Whilst accepting that almost any mechanical component may fail, it is not reasonable to expect to cover
every possible contingency. However, by examining
a number of examples it is possible to see that there is
a procedure that is applicable to all fault diagnosis of
automotive systems and that this procedure comprises
six steps:
1. Collect evidence
2. Analyse the evidence
3. Locate the fault
4. Find the cause of the fault
5. Rectify the fault
6. Thoroughly test the system

LUBRICATION SYSTEM
√ Lubrication system of an engine provides a supply of lubricating oil to the various moving parts in the engine
√ It main function is to enable the formation of a film of oil between the moving parts, which reduces friction and wear.
LUBRICATION SYSTEMS
√ there are three main types of Lubrication systems
# Wet Sump
# Dry Sump
# Total Loss
Main Components Of Lubrication System
✓ SUMP - servers as a reservoir for the oil
✓ OIL PUMP - draws oil from the sump and delivers it to the engine
✓ RELIEF VALVE - limits the maximum pressure of oil supplied by the pump
✓ OIL FILTER - filters oil, by removing impurities from the oil
✓ OIL GALLERIES - are drilling through which oil passes to the different Lubrication points in the engine
✓ OIL PRESSURE INDICATOR - shows whether the oil pressure is being kept within the manufacturers limits

Diesel Cycle Process With P-V and T-S Diagram
The 4 process are as follows
1 Isentropic compression
2 constant pressure heat addition
3 Isentropic expansion
4 constant volume heat rejection
👉 Process 1-2: Isentropic Compression
In this process the piston moves from BDC to TDC and compression of air takes place isentropically. It means that during compression the entropy remains constant and there is no flow of heat out of the cylinder walls (non-conductors) happens. Here the air is compressed so the pressure increases from P1 to P2, volume decreases from V1 to V2, Temperature increases from T1 to T2 and entropy remains constant ( i.e. S1 = S2).
👉 Process 2-3: Constant Volume Heat Addition
In this process the, the hot body is kept in contact with the cylinder and heat addition to the air takes place at constant pressure. During this process, the piston rest for a moment at TDC. The pressure remains constant (i.e. P2 = P3), volume increases from V2 to V3, temperature increases from T2 to T3, entropy increases from S2 to S3.
👉 Process 3-4: Isentropic Expansion
In this process, after heat addition, the expansion of air takes place isentropically and work is obtained from the system. The piston moves downward during this process and reaches to BDC. The pressure falls from P3 to P4, Volume increases from V3 to V4, the temperature falls from T3 to T4 and entropy remains constant (i.e. S3=S4).
👉 Process 4-1: Constant Volume Heat Rejection.
In this process, the piston rest at BDC for a moment and the cold body is brought in contact with the cylinder and the heat rejection takes place at constant volume. The pressure decreases from P4 to P1, temperature decreases from T4 to T1, entropy decreases from S4 to S1 and volume remains constant (i.e.V4 = V1

Four-Stroke Diesel Engine
The typical sequence of cycle events in a four-stroke diesel engine involves a single intake valve, fuel-injection nozzle, and exhaust valve, as shown.
Injected fuel is ignited by its reaction to compressed hot air in the cylinder, a more efficient process than that of the spark-ignition internal-combustion engine

Torque Wrench.
This tool is used as a socket wrench handle in order to exert the desired amount of strain when tightening nuts and bolts. As the torque wrench is pulled, the scale or dial of the tool indicates how great a twist, or torque, is exerted, and the pull is continued until the desired reading is reached.
This is important to exact tension specified by the manufacturer of the engine, and to make sure that cylinder-head nuts are all evenly tightened according to instructions.
If nuts are tightened with too much force, the bolts may break. In the case of a crankpin bolt, for example, with the engine in operation, such breakage would probably cause serious damage. If cylinder-head nuts are tightened unevenly, stresses may be set up that lead to cracking of castings, stripping of threads, etc.
The accuracy of a torque wrench reading depends in part upon the condition of the threads of the bolt or nut and on the lubrication of the threads. Readings are more accurate when the threads are in good condition and well lubricated.

GET BETTER DEAL
Buying a big item like a vehicle can be daunting, especially if the buyer doesn't know where to start.
This article offer's a beginner's guide to buying a vehicle and increasing one's skills in negotiation which helps the buyer to get a better deal.
One of the most important thing for potential car buyers need to know is that the majority of vehicles depreciate in value over time. If you purchase a new or used vehicle from a dealership, the vehicle depreciates by about 20% of the sale price the minute it is driven, this means that if you turned around and sold the vehicle within a week you'd probably only be able to sell it for about 20% less than you paid for it.
It is also important to realize that the cost in owning a vehicle is much more than simply the sales price of the vehicle. All expenses must be considered before accepting the burden on your monthly budget. The sales price of the vehicle is just the beginning
