Did you know that Abortion is Legal in Zambia?
Abortion is legal in Zambia and has been since 1972. Abortions are safe if conducted by a professionally trained individual at an authorized medical facility.
Knowledge, skills and to know how to refer women for treatment of abortion complications, to know the key components of woman-centered abortion care: choice, quality and access, and to have knowledge on how circumstances under which abortion is permitted and those under which it is restricted by law or policy.
Myths about abortions are very common in our communities, as advocates we need to be involved with the spreading of correct and accurate information. Abortions services should only be offered in registered and approved facilities.
