The last few months have been a profound honour. It was a privilege to meet you, to listen to your stories, and to learn of your hopes and aspirations for our community.

I sincerely thank you for welcoming me and my team into your homes and communities.

To all who received our message and vision for Kabwe Central: thank you for your support, your encouragement, and your belief in us. While we did not emerge victorious in the 2026 Kabwe Central Parliamentary elections, I respect the decision of the electorate and therefore congratulate the winner and wish them well in service.

To my dedicated and selfless campaign team: your sacrifice, commitment, and hard work ensured that we ran a campaign we can be proud of. I am eternally grateful to each one of you.

This is not the end of service, but the beginning. I remain committed to the development of Kabwe Central and I look forward to continuing to work with you.

We walked your streets, entered your homes,met our communities and listened to your concerns.

We saw the challenges, but we also saw resilience.We heard frustrations, but louder still was the voice of a people who refuse to stop believing.

This journey was never just about politics.
It was about the mother hoping for better healthcare,the young person seeking opportunity,the farmer seeking a better market,the trader building a livelihood,
and every family dreaming of a better Kabwe.

Now the campaign grows quiet.
The posters will come down,
the loudspeakers will fall silent,
but the dreams we shared must not.

Let us carry them forward with peace, unity and purpose.

DOROTHY YALUMA BOWA: KABWE'S LIFE-LONG EDUCATOR AND COMMUNITY BUILDER

In Kabwe, long before formal titles and public recognition, Dorothy Yaluma Bowa was already known for something simple yet powerful. She was a teacher deeply committed to her community.

Her life has been shaped by service, discipline and steady leadership. What began in the classroom gradually expanded into wider community influence, built on consistency and a strong sense of responsibility.

Mrs. Bowa started her career as a primary school teacher who later specialized in Social Studies, a subject rooted in citizenship, responsibility and community values. In her classroom, she did far more than deliver lessons from textbooks. She shaped attitudes, nurtured discipline and built confidence in her learners. Former pupils remember a teacher who believed education could transform lives, that discipline builds character and that every child deserves guidance and opportunity. These early years laid the foundation for a lifelong commitment to service.

Through dedication and hard work, she rose steadily through the education system into senior leadership, eventually serving as a Headteacher. In this role, her responsibility expanded from one classroom to an entire school community. She led teachers and staff, strengthened academic performance, engaged parents and guardians and worked to create safe, disciplined and productive learning environments. Her leadership style became known as firm, principled and strongly community-oriented.

Over the course of her career, she served in several schools including Kasama Primary School and Mubanga Chipoya Primary School in Kasama, Chakunkula Primary School in Lusaka, and in Kabwe she served at Jasmine Primary School, Mine Middle Basic School, Mukobeko Basic School, David Ramushu Basic School, Lukanga Primary School and David Ramushu Secondary School. Across all these institutions, her impact was consistent, shaping learners, strengthening school systems and building communities around education.

After retirement from formal education service, her influence did not end. Her legacy continues to be visible in the schools and learners she once guided.

Today, Mrs Bowa is actively involved in women's empowerment initiatives across Highridge, Magandanyama, Kamushanga and Katondo. In these communities, she mentors and supports women and families, encouraging self-reliance, personal growth and family stability. She also serves as an entrepreneur and social counsellor, offering guidance that promotes discipline, responsibility and development among women and young people.

Beyond community empowerment, she has extended her influence into youth development through sports. She has partnered with Ama Soccer Academy to support the Away Man of the Match award initiative, a program designed to promote discipline, recognize talent and create positive opportunities for young footballers.

Her story is ultimately one of continuity, from classroom teaching to community leadership, from school administration to grassroots empowerment. Dorothy Yaluma Bowa remains a figure whose legacy is anchored not in titles but in service, education and lasting community impact.

MY VISION FOR KABWE CENTRAL

My vision is guided by the peculiar needs of Kabwe Central and anchored on one fundamental principle:

Every policy, every law and every budget must answer one essential question, How does this benefit the people?

Leadership must translate into tangible improvements in the lives of our people.

Kabwe Central is endowed with enormous potential , in its people, agriculture, mining, commerce, industry and entrepreneurship. Yet, despite this abundance, we continue to lag behind in development.It is time to turn our potential into progress.

As we head to the polls, do not forget to vote for Dorothy Yaluma for a hands-on approach to tackling the lead pollution crisis,upgrading key roads to spur commerce, creating an enabling environment for factories, industries and SMEs to thrive,revitalising agriculture and promoting value addition.

It is about putting people at the centre of governance and ensuring that development reaches every ward, every community and every household.

We must confront the challenges that have held our communities back, lead pollution, poor roads, water and sanitation challenges, limited opportunities for farmers, youth and women, and the need to create a favourable environment for industries, factories and SMEs.

Development must not stop at the centre of town. It must reach every ward, every compound, every neighbourhood and every household.

This is about restoring hope, rebuilding our local economy and giving Kabwe Central a stronger voice.
