ANNOUNCEMENT

The Rector of St. Mary's Junior Seminary wishes to inform all priests, religious sisters, religious brothers, and the lay faithful of the Catholic Diocese of Chipata that applications are now open for the 2027 Form One Entry Examinations for boys who show signs of a vocation to the priesthood.

The entrance examinations will be conducted from Monday, 31 August to Wednesday, 2 September 2026. All candidates are expected to arrive at their respective examination centres on Sunday, 30 August 2026.

Examination Centres

1. St. Mary's Junior Seminary – Chipata
2. St. Oscar's Parish – Petauke
3. St. Paul's Parish – Lundazi
4. St. John's Parish – Katete

Requirements

Applicants must:

1. Be in Grade Seven in 2026 and be registered to sit for the Grade Seven Government Examinations.
2. Present their correct Grade Seven Examination Number.
3. Submit three recommendation letters from:
- The Parish Priest;
- The Outstation Catechist; and
- The Ankhoswe from their Small Christian Community.
4. Present a Baptism Certificate.
5. Provide proof of having received First Holy Communion.
6. Pay a non-refundable examination fee of K250.00.
7. Be 15 years of age or younger.
8. Be prepared to sit for examinations in the following subjects:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Religious Education
- Science
- Nyanja
- Social Studies
- Special Paper I
- Special Paper II
9. Bring K200.00 for meals.
10. Bring their own bedding.

All prospective candidates are advised to register through their respective Parish Priests. The closing date for registration is Sunday, 16 August 2026.
