Plant a Tree and Save Our Planet!

The simplest and most effective way to make a positive impact on our environment is by planting a tree. Trees are the lungs of our planet, producing oxygen and purifying the air we breathe. They provide shelter, food, and habitat for countless species of animals, insects, and microorganisms.

FACTS ABOUT TUTA ABSOLUTA(BELINDA)

Tuta absoluta, the tomato leafminer, is a significant pest of tomato and other solanaceous crops. The female moths lay eggs on host plants, which hatch into larvae within 3-4 days. The larvae then go through four instars, feeding on leaves, stems, and fruits, causing damage to the plant.

As the larvae mature, they form pupae in protected areas, emerging as adult moths after 7-10 days. The adult moths live for 2-3 weeks, during which time they mate and lay eggs, starting the cycle over again.

To manage Tuta absoluta, a combination of cultural, biological, and chemical controls can be used. Cultural controls include removing w**ds and debris, using physical barriers such as fine mesh, and practicing good sanitation. Biological controls involve introducing natural predators, such as Trichogramma, or using parasitic wasps, like Cotesia.

Chemical controls can also be effective, but it's essential to use insecticides, such as neem oil or pyrethroids, judiciously and as part of a resistance management strategy. Regular monitoring of plants for signs of infestation is crucial for early detection and effective management.

It's not easy, but there is always a way to begin and get started.

Farming is not just for the old; even young, energetic men and women can engage in it. Many older individuals regret not starting farming when they were young. If you're young, begin your farming journey now and learn through the process.

Purchase that farmland and start something to ensure food security. It's not easy, but there is always a way to begin and get started.

BENEFITS OF DRIP IRRIGATION.

WATER EFFICIENCY

Drip irrigation delivers water directly to the roots of plants, minimizing water waste through evaporation or runoff.

IMPROVED PLANT HEALTH

By providing a consistent water supply, drip irrigation helps maintain optimal soil moisture levels, reducing stress on plants and promoting healthier growth.

W**d Reduction: Since water is targeted only to the desired plants, drip irrigation can help suppress w**d growth by depriving unwanted vegetation of water.

REDUCED DISEASE RISK

Drip irrigation keeps foliage dry, which can help prevent the spread of diseases caused by fungal pathogens that thrive in moist conditions.

LOWER LABOR AND MAINTENANCE

Drip systems require less labor and maintenance compared to traditional irrigation methods like sprinklers, saving time and resources.

SOIL EROSION PREVENTION

By delivering water slowly and evenly, drip irrigation helps prevent soil erosion, particularly on sloped or uneven terrain.
