I’m a bit of a perfectionist, so:

✅️ I like very clean, sharp corner lines 📐

✅️ White paper gives me better visibility when drafting

✅️ Pencil markings show up clearer on white paper ✏️

✅️ I can control the size and quality of my paper

✅️ It feels smoother for detailed pattern work

✅️ I’m more comfortable and accurate with it

It’s not that brown paper is bad... this just works better for me 😊
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this 😊

One question I get a lot is, "Why didn't you go to sewing school?"

The truth is, online learning worked better for my season of life.

✅️ I had a 9-to-5 job and couldn't commit to regular class hours.

✅️ I could learn at my own pace instead of trying to keep up with everyone else.

✅️ If I didn't understand something, I could pause, rewind, and watch the lesson again.

✅️ I wasn't pressured into perfection before I was ready.

✅️ I wasn't comparing my progress to other students.

✅️ I could practice the same skill for days or weeks without feeling left behind.

✅️ I could learn whenever I had free time, even if it was just 30 minutes.

✅️ It was more affordable for me at the time.

✅️ Most importantly, it taught me how to take responsibility for my own learning.

Was it always easy? Definitely not 😭✂️

There were days I was confused, frustrated, and ready to give up.

But little by little, tutorial by tutorial, project by project, I improved.

If you're learning online, don't underestimate how far consistency can take you ❤️

How are you learning sewing online, in a sewing school, or a little bit of both...? ✂️

At first they all look simple 😭✂️
Then you actually try sewing them 😂

• Sleeves
• Zippers
• Overlockers
• Darts
• Collars

Be honest… which one has humbled you the most? 😭

A lot of sewing machine problems are caused by poor maintenance ✂️

Dust buildup, loose threads, and lack of cleaning can affect how your machine sews and may even lead to expensive repairs.

Learning how to clean and service your sewing machine is one of the best beginner sewing skills you can have ❤️

It saves you:

✔️ Time
✔️ Money
✔️ Stress
✔️ Unnecessary machine problems

Take care of your machine, and it will take care of your sewing journey 😊

I asked my TikTok sewing buddies what sewing challenges they are currently facing, and I received more than 100 replies ✂️

These were some of the most common struggle:

• Wrong measurements
• Cutting fabric
• Understanding patterns
• Thread tension
• Sewing straight lines

Are you facing the same challenges too? ✂️👇

Sewing beginners, let’s talk ✂️👇

I know it’s tempting to “just try it on” for content… But your client didn’t pay for a model NO..! they paid for a finished piece.

It might seem harmless, but wearing your client’s outfit for content can cause these problems

1. Fit issues – the outfit may not sit the same on you

2. Hygiene concerns – especially with new clients

3. Risk of damage – stains, stretching, or wear

4. Loss of trust – clients expect their pieces to be untouched

👌 Respect the work. Respect the client. ✂️

❓️❓️ “Have you ever been tempted to try on a client’s outfit?” 🤔
