Z.Y.E CO-ORDINATOR HAPPY MNCEDISI NANI & NUTRITION ALLIANCE MAKE HISTORY AT APD COMPETITION
By: KAMVA BIZANA
ZWELETHEMBA- In a landmark achievement for inclusive arts in the Breede Valley, Nutrition Alliance, has clinched 1st Place at the recent APD Competition through a powerful performing arts showcase.
This marks the first collaboration between Z.Y.E Co-ordinator Happy Mncedisi Nani and Nutrition Alliance in the field of Performing Arts. The project focused on training and mentoring participants living with disabilities - a group often overlooked in mainstream arts platforms.
Leading the program, Z.Y.E Coordinator Happy Mncedisi Nani facilitated intensive workshops in Gumboot Dance, Acting, Drum Performance, and Stage Confidence. Despite the challenges of adapting teaching methods for diverse abilities, the team remained committed to the belief that talent has no limits.
"This was not easy work," said Nani. "But it was necessary work. Working with people living with disabilities taught me patience, creativity, and the true meaning of inclusion. When we see ability instead of disability, excellence follows."
The music and performance were guided by conductors Thundezwa Veronica Nani and Phumza Zothwana, whose leadership brought harmony and discipline to the production.
The 1st Place win at APD is more than a trophy. It is proof that when communities invest in inclusive arts, they unlock potential, dignity, and joy.
Happy Mncedisi Nani extends gratitude to Nutrition Alliance for the trust and partnership. This victory sets the tone for the upcoming Z.Y.E Awards of Excellence on 31 October 2026.
