As the winter chill sets in, icy conditions are playing even more pressure on our already constrained energy grid. Load shedding is therefore looming reality which is expected to increase even more during the coming months. We have seen an increase number of fire claims in the last few months, most of which can be attributed directly to load shedding. Some of these claims has also sadly resulted in the loss of life.
It is vitally important to be aware of the dangers associated with these power outages.
What to avoid and what to take care of:
*A hairdryer left on the bed when load shedding was implemented, set the bed alight when the power was turned back on.
*Candle fell over setting curtains or bedding alight. Never Leave candles unattended or burning when going to sleep!
*An iron left on during load shedding,set the ironing board alight and caused subsequent further fire damage to the unit.
*Heaters placed too close to flammable material such as blankets and curtains is also at major fire risk.

Make sure to unplug ALL appliances that were being used before the power outage to prevent them turning on unattended when the power is restored. In doing this you will also protect these items from electricity spikes or surges.

Nog 'n paar wenke om te spaar
Weet dis nie maklik nie, maar dis altyd lekker as jy dit kan regkry en sien hoe jou bankbalkans groei!
*Maak seker alle elektriese toestelle is af en uitgeprop as jy gaan werk.
*Gebruik jou "slow cooker" of oond op 'n lae temperatuur om een skottel geregte voor te berei.
*Sit jou kreideniers geld in 'n koevert en los jou beursie tuis. dan het jy niks ekstra om te blaas nie.
*Spaar water- Moenie die keutel vol water maak vir 1 koppie koffie nie. Stort korter en was wasgoed met koue water.Dis goedkoper om geskenke met papier toe te draai as om sakkies te koop.
*Maak verjaarsdagkaartjies self.
*Ruil boeke, CD's en DVD's met vriende of koop by tweede hanse winkels. Jy kan rande so spaar.
*Gebruik jou mandjiei.p.v trollies by die winkel.
*Verwyder luukses van jou begroting, jy sal voorleef daarsonder.
*Begin 'n geskenkkas of laai. Koop uitverkopings en nie naby feestyd of spesiale dae nie. Prysestyg gewoontlik dan.
Moenie jou verhooging blaas nie. Betaal die Huisverbond vinniger of spaar dit maandeliks.
*Koop minder rooivleis. Daar is gesonder opsies.
*Deel huiswerkies onder die familielede en maak minder van buite hulp gebruik.
*Gee slegte gewoontes soos rook op, si*****te kos 'n fortuin.
Lekker spaarsaam leef- dalk het jy nog puik idees.**

Ways to save money
Everybody wants some cash left in the pocket / save for something special.
Start saving today.
* Pay all your credit cards as quick as possible, don't leave them in your purse as it is to big of an urge to use it.
* Buy things like toilet paper and long life milk in bulk
* Make a list before shopping and stick to it
*Fast foods / takeaways cost a lot more than a home cooked meal
* Pack leftovers for lunch , it is cheaper and will also add less calories to your diet
*Don't live beyond your means
*Don't sped, it is awful to pay for fines.
*Start a veggie garden, it is a great way to save money and stay healthy
*Plan meals in advance and shop once a week, petrol is expensive
*Cut on phone bills , change to pay-as-you-go and do not stay on the phone for hours
*Don't wash dishes or brush your teeth wile the tap is running
*Switch off the lights in the rooms where you are not busy
*Don't spend your raise, pay the house bond quicker or put it in your savings account
*Never forget, every cent counts

Alles oor wasdag moeilikheid
*Verstaan die wassimbole, die syfers wys die temperatuur van die water,
witwasgoed is nie "bang" vir hutte nie. Kleure moet liefs in koeler water gewas word en moenie meng met wit wasgoed nie.
*Die strepies onder die wasbalie wys hoe vol die wasmasjien behoort te wees.
*Die sirkel teken dui aan of wasgoed mag tuimeldroog al dan nie.
Algemene problem opgelos
*Grys witgoed - te min waspoeier gebruik Voeg suurlemoensap by.
Water te koud, was weer in warmer water.
* Witgoed verkleur - verkeerde sortering
Week in vlekverwyderaar en was weer. Week nuwe wasgoed in asyn voor eerste was.
*Erg gekreukel - Verkeerde was siklus. Masjien oorlaai. Te warm tuimeldroog.
*Donsies - Handoeke apart was. Verwyder donsies met kleeflint of klam sponsie.
Verstopte Filter - Verwyder blokkasie.

A big thank you to the 49 parents attending the SGB elections on 11 March 2015. Unfortunately we didn't reach a quorum and we need to repeat the process on the new given date. No quorum is then required. Proxy vote forms can be obtained from the office.

Learners are busy with term tests till 17 March 2015. There will be normal school till 25 March 2015 and nobody will be allowed to go home or leave early.

Looking forward to our Fun Day on 24 March 2015. Learners can still hand in their list at their register classes.

Spesiale skrywe aan Ouers

Baie dankie aan die 49 ouers wat wel die Beheerliggaamverkiesing op 11 Maart 2015 bygewoon het. Ongelukkig was daar nie 'n kworum nie.
Die proses moet dus herhaal word op die onderstaande datum. Geen kworum is dan nodig nie. Proxy vorms is by die kantoor beskikbaar.

Ons leerders skryf tot 17 Maart 2015 termyn toetse. Daar is normale skool tot die dag wat die skool sluit op 25 Maart 2015. Geen leerders sal toegelaat word om vroeg huistoe te gaan nie.

Onthou ons Pretdag op 24 Maart 2015! Borglyste kan nog inbetaal word.

Roodies se Sleepy Heads span het weer hul deel gebring by vanjaar se Cansa Shavathon wat plaasgevind het op die 28ste Februarie 2015. 20 Van ons Roodies Personeel en familie het saam gekom om geld in te samel vir Cansa.
