INKKHANYETI PRIMARY EXCURSION TO GOLD REEF CITY MINE

Gold Reef City is built on an old gold mine. Gold was discovered in Johannesburg in 1886. This is called the Gold Rush. Many people came to Johannesburg to look for gold.

What we saw and did there:

1. The Mine:We saw a real gold mine that is 75 meters underground. We went down wearing helmets and we saw how dark it was inside.

2. Gold Pouring:We saw how they pour real gold and make a gold bar.

3. Olden Day Transport:We saw old wagons, carts and coaches that were pulled by oxen and horses. Miners used them to carry their things long ago.

4. Rides:We also enjoyed the rides and we had fun with our friends.
