On Thursday, 11th of September 2025, Goldfields TVET College welcomed over four hundred (400) guests to the annual students awards ceremony at the Kingdom of Christ Ministries Auditorium, where students who have performed exceptionally well in their academic pursuits, sport and extra mural activities were presented with certificates for achieving excellence during the 2024 academic year.
Among the attendees were staff, industry and business people, guests, and last but not least, the ecstatic parents who came to support their children for being part of the top achieving students in both NC(V) and NATED/Report 191 programmes, sports, arts and cultural activities.
The ceremony began with a prayer from Ms. Nthabiseng Motantsi (Assistant Director: Curriculum) with a few words of encouragement to all the students that have achieved as well as to those that are yet to achieve, followed by a brief message from the Principal of the college Mr F.S. Mr. Mahlangu also took the opportunity to applaud the lecturers for a job well done in ensuring that these students achieve the best results through their dedication to teaching. Today at Goldfields TVET College Tosa Campus students joined hands to raise awareness for World Su***de Prevention Day.
As part of the su***de prevention dialogue facilitated by the Campus Care Worker, students dipped their hands in paint and placed handprints on a pledge poster sharing messages of hope for anyone battling suicidal thoughts or mental health challenges.
Each print is a reminder that support is all around us. No one should suffer in silence. You are seen, you are valued and help is available.
Let’s continue creating safe spaces on our campuses where healing, understanding and hope can thrive.
