Get creative practicing Balance and Strength on uneven terrains.

Our Wild Ones are still finding their feet in this big world, literally! Balancing without falling over can be challenging, but luckily, the practice can be great fun!

Guide your Wild One over different obstacles and terrains to practice balance, coordination, gross-motor skills and muscle development.

Have fun!

Music, rhythm, dance and playful noise!
Activities our Wild Ones love! β™₯️🎡

Sing songs, dance, play Kiddies instruments and guide them to mimic easy rhythms.

Don't have instruments? Make your own! πŸ–οΈ

Fun ideas:
🎢Plastic bottles with stones in.
🎢Pots and pans with spoons.
🎢Kitchen paper rolls (trumpet).
🎢Paperstraw pan pipes.
🎢Guitar. Cut hole in box. Add elastic bands a cross square hole. Add cardboard neck.

Hi Wild Ones!!!

We've had a busy week so far, so let's take it down a bit.

🌿Act 1: Kids yoga/stretching. Help your little one relax and stretch out those busy bodies with these fun and easy yoga exercises.

☘️Act 2: Nature art. Use flowers, flower petals, leaves and sticks to create a textured picture. Little ones can practice applying glue with a stick or brush and pasting on a page. (does not have to be a picture.)

🌳Act 3: Make a snack. Help your little one get comfortable and more independent in the kitchen by helping them make their own snack. This can be buttering a slice of bread, preparing a fruit salad, anything on your child's level. You can even bake! 🧁

Enjoy your day!

Hi there Wild Ones friends!

Look at what we have planned for Wednesday!

πŸ’§Act 1: Water play. Fill a big container, bucket or baby pool with water and add a few transferring aids such as jugs, different size bottles, soup spoons etc. Let your little one have fun filling them up and pouring them out.
Our bigger kids can learn more about Volume by seeing how much water each bottle can hold. Use 500ml, 1L and 2L bottles. Guide them with questions: How many 500mls would go into a 2L bottle - physically test it.

🌈Act 2: Colour walk. Use 3 boxes or containers, each with a specific colour, red, blue, yellow (you can just use a piece of paper to indicate the colour). Taking one box at a time, walk around the house and try to fill the box with items of that colour. Reflect on what you found.

🎢Act 3: Sing and dance. Get moving with your Wild one's favorite songs! Afterwards, sing a few well known rhymes. Add movements to demonstrate the words and practice clapping to indicate rhythm.

Have loads of fun!!!

Hi friends!

Apologies for the delay due to the "shutdown" last night!

Tuesday:

Act 1: Gardening. Use what is available to you to practice and encourage a love for nature. Plant a flower, water the garden, pull out weeds etc.

Act 2: An obstacle course. Create an easy course in your home or garden at your Wild one's level and guide them through it. You can make it even more fun by adding a little prize at the end.

Act 3: Painting! Get messy and creative with a painting activity! You can do finger painting or use a brush depending on your child's abilities.
Baby safe paint - Porridge/flour, warm water and food colouring.

Enjoy!

🌞🌞🌞 HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!! 🌞🌞🌞

We hope our Wild Ones enjoy an amazing and safe holiday with loved ones!

We will be posting a few fun, easy and educational holiday activities every night for you to do with your little ones at home the next day.

Monday:

🌸Act 1 - Nature scavenger hunt.
Walk around the garden or any space accessible to you, and collect "nature" items like stones, sand, grass, leaves, sticks, flowers etc. Sort them into categories, all the flowers together etc, also describe each group of items. If your child is big enough they can count each group. Guide your child with questions: What colour is the flower? How does the flower smell? How does the stone feel? Do you like walking on the grass? Which one is your favorite? Etc.

🌹Act 2 - Let your Wild One draw what they saw in the garden today. If they are too small, you can guide their pencil grip and allow them to Scribble, or an adult can draw the picture, a flower, and let them colour it in.

🌼Act 3 - Get moving and stretching by creating and imitating the plants and creatures you would find in nature using your bodies. You can be a tree, the sun, a flower, a flying bird, a buzzing bee, a jumping frog. There is no right way, just have fun!

Have fun Wild Ones!

πŸ“–Remember to work in at least one book every day. πŸ›

Have fun making rainbow toast!

How?

Add food colouring to milk and paint your bread. When you're done, pop it in the toaster!

Older children can get creative with many different colours! 🌈

Great lunchbox idea - incorporate pictures/colours to weekly themes!
Spring = Grown-up/child can paint flowers on bread. πŸ’πŸŒΈπŸŒΉ

Have a great weekend!!!

πŸ‘‰πŸ‘‰πŸ‘‰BODY PART RECOGNITIONπŸ‘ˆπŸ‘ˆπŸ‘ˆ

Teaching our Wild Ones about their bodies and all of their body parts can take some time and lots of practice.

Here are a few ideas and tips:

🀚Start with one body part at a time. Focus on that for at least a week if they are very young.
🀚Repetition and consistency. Ask them and show them the body part a few times per day.
🀚Act 1-Stand and point/name the body part on yourself and your child.
🀚Act 2-Practice showing and naming their body parts in the bath.
🀚Act 3-Let them point out the body parts on a doll/teddy/picture.
🀚Act 4-Sing the "Head, shoulders, knees and toes" song every day. They love this!
🀚Act 5-Hand and feet prints.

Body part recognition develops body awareness and is one of the first activities taught in the SexEd curriculum.

On this level it does not include any "grown-up" info, but being able to comfortably name and identify body parts and have the needed body awareness and ownership of their own bodies, can avoid and/or unveil sexual assault.

Enjoy Exploring with your Wild One!
