Dear Parents
Greeting in the name of the Lord.
We would like to welcome all learners and Parents to Sinethemba Day Care & Pre – School, we hope that we will work together in building and shaping the minds of our further leaders.
To our new Learners and Parents welcome, hope that you participate and support us in all we do. Due to the pandemic here are a few things that we need to know and note:
Before coming to school please answer the questions in the screening questionnaire before leaving home, to check that your child is ‘fit’ to come to school each day.
Does your child have high temperature of fever?
Does your child have a new cough?
Does your child complain about having a sore throat?
Does your child have difficulty in breathing normally?
Does your child complain about feeling weak or tired?
Did your child indicate to you that food or drinks taste different than usual?
Are there any sign that your child’s smell is affected?
If you answer “YES” to any question PLEASES LET YOUR CHILD STAY AT HOME.
On arrival at school each day:
o Kindly note that No Parent(s) will be allowed into the Center.
o An adult needs to bring your child each Morning to ensure that the ‘symptom’ checklist can be answered and that the child can be handed over safely.
o Please sanitize/Wash your and your child’s hands!
o Have your child’s temperature taken and recorded and answer the screening questions! This must be done every day!!!
o Please adhere to Social Distancing should you arrive at school when another child is being dropped off and going through entry procedure; the various stations will be spread out and ensure limited contact as far as possible!
At the Center:
o Parents will not be allowed into the premises, in the Morning and in the Afternoon.
Upon entry or collection, parents are to wait for a staff member to accompany their child to them outside the entrance and take them in, in the Morning.
• Should there be any changes in the weather alternative measures will be communicated.
o Parents are to make an appointment prior, should you want to see the Principal or Class Teacher.
All other communications can be done using our school’s WhatsApp chat group, and private matters can be directly communicated away from the chat group.
The WhatsApp number to use is 067 165 2613 and the Principal, Administrator and Class Teacher’s number are available on the chat group or could be given to you upon request, so there be a matter that you need to talk to them about outside the group chat.
o Children from 24 months and younger are not required to wear a mask due to the risks associated with wearing a mask at that age.
o All children 2 years and older are required to wear a Face Mask or Face Shield.
o All children MUST GO THROUGH THE SCREENING PROCESS EVERY MORNING!! NO SHORT CUTS, NO MATTER HOW LATE YOU ARE. COME EARLY SO THAT YOU WON’T BE LATE FOR WORK.
o NO SCHOOL BAGS ARE ALLOWED, BECAUSE THEY WILL NEED TO BE SANITIZED DAILY.
We have cleaned all the outdoor equipment and indoor equipment and have put away any items that are difficult to sanitize daily. We will clean all the outdoor and indoor equipment daily at the beginning and end of each day.
Children who get sick or show symptoms that may be linked to COVID-19 need to stay at home and not attend school; if a child shows symptoms on arrival at school they will be asked to go home; and if a child shows symptoms during the day, they will be isolated from the other children and you will be contacted to collect your child immediately.
If your child has underlying medical issues that may place him/her at higher risk, you need to go for an assessment with your doctor to confirm attendance at school.
We will do our best to keep children appropriately distanced from one another.
