In this time of deep sorrow, we stand with the entire community as we mourn the tragic scholar transport accident that has taken the precious lives of 13 Vanderbijlpark learners. No words can fully capture the weight of this loss, nor can they ease the pain that parents, families, teachers, and neighbours are experiencing right now. What happened is heartbreaking, and our hearts are broken with you.

To the families who have lost their children — we offer our deepest, sincerest condolences. Your pain is unimaginable, and your grief is sacred. Your children were not just learners; they were the pride of your homes, the light of their classrooms, and the promise of tomorrow. Their absence leaves a silence that is loud, heavy, and unfair. We pray that God’s comfort surrounds you and that His strength carries you in the days ahead when the world feels too heavy to stand in.

To the survivors, the learners who witnessed the tragedy, and the families still waiting for news or healing — may you find courage and support in every corner of the community. May healing, both physical and emotional, be gentle and steady. No one should have to walk such a painful journey alone, and you won’t. We stand with you.

To the broader community — this tragedy has shaken us all. When we lose children, we lose a piece of our future. We are reminded of how fragile life is and how much we need one another.

May the souls of the young ones we lost rest in eternal peace. May their memories forever remain a blessing. And may God, in His grace, bring healing to every wounded heart.
