A call to artists wishing to apply for the My Body My Space Public Arts Festival 2026.

Dates: 9 - 15 March 2026.

Closing date for applications: 30th November 2025 Midnight

Currently has no confirmed funding - however we are keen to know who wants to come dance with us in 2026 - in the event that we are able to secure the required funds.

We welcome your Human Rights, Climate Justice and Environment themed proposals for new dance works, outdoor /site responsive performances, workshops and public art activations.

My Body My Space is a rurally-based annual festival held in Machadodorp and surrounds, Mpumalanga. We actively support youth and emerging artists, workshops that engage young people, and work that has a socially engaged focus. MBMS is accepting applications from artists of all ages and all levels of experience. In 2026 and as we celebrate 11 years we are interested in Dance and Physical Theatre work (i.e. work that is not spoken word dependent) that responds to the climate / ecological crisis, sees the humxn within the broader environment, and prompts us to reimagine our relationships to the spaces we move through.

We invite you to think:

1. Short format
2. Light weight i.e small touring parties
3. Low tech i.e. sound playback only
4. Can take place almost anywhere at any time for everyone
