A group of top-performing Science learners recently travelled to Bloemfontein for an exciting educational visit to the University of the Free State and several important space-science facilities. The visit provided learners with an opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world scientific research and technology.
During the visit to the University of the Free State, learners were introduced to and explored opportunities available in science and technology They also visited the Boyden Observatory and Museum, where they learned about astronomy, telescopes, space exploration and the history of astronomical research in South Africa.
The learners also had the opportunity to visit the Naval Hill Planetarium, where they explored the night sky and gained a deeper understanding of planets, stars, galaxies and the wider universe.
