Gamble Street Secondary School is a high school located in Uitenhage, Eastern Cape. We pride ourselves on providing a holistic approach to learning.

The school caters to Grades 8-12. Our aim is to instill an attitude of generosity in our learners. To encourage giving instead of taking; goodness in mind, body and soul; and graciousness to handle difficult situations in life. It is our steadfast belief that anything is obtainable once an individual sets their mind to achieve it. The school community promotes an atmosphere of humility and kindness. Grade 12 Pledge Ceremony – September Preparatory Examinations

Our Grade 12 learners took part in a meaningful Pledge Ceremony ahead of their September Preparatory Examinations.

This important occasion reminded our Matrics of the Commitment, Discipline and Determination required as they prepare for their examinations. The Pledge symbolises their Promise to Themselves, their Families, their Educators and their School to give their very best and remain focused on their goals.

NMU Inspires Our Grade 12 Learners πŸŽ“

On Monday, 17 August 2026, Nelson Mandela University (NMU) visited our school to engage with our Grade 12 learners on career choices and the importance of the Admission Point Score (APS).

The session provided our Matric learners with valuable information and guidance as they prepare to make important decisions about their future studies and careers. Learners were encouraged to understand the requirements for different programmes and to make informed choices that align with their interests, strengths and aspirations.
