Beetroot leaves are so pretty and often thrown away. Did you know they are actually edible?

Beet greens have a similar colorful look as swiss chard and can be consumed in much of the same way. They also are very high in iron with a higher iron count than spinach as well as vitamin K, B6, magnesium and potassium. They are also a great source of fibre

Peas, glorious peas! I doubt that anybof these will even make it to the kitchen, when the pods mature.

Peas, glorious peas!

They really are attractive little plants, aren't they? No spindly little stem, just loads of leaves and heaps of promise. These are looking much better than the ones I planted in spring- the cooler weather does affect them favourably it seems.

Ever noticed how Swiss chard and beetroot look the same when sprouting?

Radishes are truly amazing as a first crop for kids. They are so eager to sprout and grow and make the little ones excited about gardening. These were planted late afternoon 15 April 2025 and already standing more than an inch tall. Look at the cute new leave ready to start unfurling. 7 days, a little rain, alot of heat and some eager yound hands to tend them...
